I probably have a less popular opinion of CSR. We stayed there last March/April over Spring Break leading up to Easter when we switched from CBR chasing a deal on room rates. We stayed off-property for our first visit, in an AoA LIon King Family Suite, then at PORS (our fav so far), and finally CSR for our last visit. Of all the places we've stayed CSR was our least favorite. I realize that this post is rather long and reads like I'm a major complainer, but I'm really not trying to be. I think overall our stay didn't have that Disney Magic I love so much about our previous stays. I would think it was just me, but my travel agent indicated she'd had a few other people that had stayed there recently that didn't love it either, then she went several weeks later and said she was no longer going to present it as a resort she'd highly recommend.

The grounds are gorgeous and I really loved walking past the fountains when moving around the resort. The scattered seating around the lake made for a nice place to relax and DD16 and I danced under the lights in the courtyard one evening, with is a memory I will always cherish. Three Bridges Restaurant was a fun experience for us all and everyone loved the food here. We ate at El Mercado once (good food but nothing special) and Cafe Rix once (see below). The wait time for TBR was over 3 hours using the app check-in, but we expected a long wait, so checked in hours before we planned to eat and it worked out well. I felt for the people working the coffee shop as there were only two people working (one at the register, one making the drinks) and the line was quite long, but they were pleasant and everything I ordered tasted great. We were given mixed information from Disney CMs when I called about the availability of the Rapid Fill mugs, so we didn't know what to expect. The CMs that told me they were not available stated it was because the food services at CSR are operated by a third party, not TDC itself. We were hopeful, but they were not available during our stay (hopefully this has changed). We used Amazon to order snacks and drinks which were delivered to the Bell Services and we picked our items up from them. We picked up our first order (cases of soda, water, and snacks) on the day of our arrival and one of the gentlemen working offered to use one of the golf carts to deliver the items to our room, which was a wonderful help.

Overall, the staff was friendly and welcoming, though some seemed stressed/tired, especially at the front desk. The check-in process took quite a while. The CMs seemed like they were doing everything they could and I think part of the issue may have been slow computers. Additionally, the lobby was not clearly marked for the line, resulting in a CM having to come over periodically to direct guests where the line was supposed to be. When I returned to the front desk on a few other occasions during our stay, this continued to be an issue (both the lack of direction or and the slow pace at the desks) that at least was irritating to a few people.

This is a VERY large resort with multiple bus stops. Though we had a "Preferred Room" it was still quite a walk from the main lobby to our building (Casitas 1). We had two people with mobility issues and the walking distance from our room to the lobby or bus stops was a challenge. Our room was nearly equidistant from the Gran Destino Tower stop and Bus Stop #2. It is important to know that the naming of the stops here is confusing. Bus Stop #2 is the first pickup, but GDT is the drop-off. While I had seen some reports that there is an internal bus route, one was not running during our stay. The staff seemed irritated/confused when we asked about a ride to our room (the reaction depended on who we spoke to). I requested a change of rooms to be closer to the bust stop, but was told because of parking lot resurfacing they could not accommodate us. On the last two days of our stay we had to cross the lot being repaved to get to Bus Stop #2. While it felt a bit odd we wouldn't have thought much about it, but the scooters we'd rented had issues getting up onto the newer pavement from area that had been removed. The wait times for the busses to the various parks was generally less than 10 minutes between them. Because we had mobility scooters in our party, those using them were generally loaded first onto the busses with the rest of our party loaded next. In most cases everyone waiting was able to board, but toward the end of our trip leading up to the Easter Weekend there were times that not everyone was able to board and had to wait for another bus.

We had two connecting rooms and while the room size was quite comfortable with plenty of room to unpack and the décor was pleasant, it felt largely generic, like it could be almost any hotel anywhere. The theming is subtle to the point of feeling absent; it really did not "feel" like a Disney property to any of the 6 of us (3 adults, 3 teens). In one of the rooms, neither the fridge, nor the A/C were working correctly. It was sometimes difficult to get ahold of the front desk, but once we did, they were very responsive and fixed both issues. The bedding was wonderfully comfortable, the shower pressure was good, and the towels and linens were great quality. I did not use any of the pools, but the looked quite nice and several people were enjoying them.

In the Casitas laundry (right next to a pool and fitness center) there were 6 or 8 washing machines and twice as many dryers. The first two washers were not working and one of the two I used did not spin the water out, so I had to switch to another washer for another cycle before I could dry them. The front desk seemed surprised that so many machines were having issues and said they'd send someone down to take a look (I assume they did, but did not go back to the laundry after that evening).

Mouse-keeping was reduced during our stay, which we were totally fine with. Oddly there were a few occasions that one of our rooms had trash/used linens removed while the other did not, despite the connecting door being left open. Not a big deal on its own, but it was another inconsistency at the resort that took away from that "Disney Feel".

After four nights into our six night stay I was at the main desk (trying to re-link our magic bands to my credit card for a third time) when a manager happened to ask how our stay was going. I said, "Actually, it hasn't been great" and started telling her about our experience to that point as well as the chaos we experienced prior to ever leaving home (numerous flight changes and then a departure delay of over an hour), the exceedingly long line for DME (we were one of those "walk past the line because SURELY this isn't it" only to have to walk all the way past nearly all the mostly closed car-rental desks to reach the actual end of the line), and having to reschedule our first ADR from DME (due to flight delay + long line/wait for DME). The poor woman probably thought I was nuts when I started tearing up at one point because this absolutely had NOT been the vacation I had planned or was expecting. She so sweet, asking where we were eating that night and said she was going to see what she could do to. I was overwhelmed when she called less than 30 minutes later and said that she'd credited our room and that it would be her pleasure to help treat us to dinner at Tappan Edo that night!

Happily, the rest of our trip went smoothly and the obnoxious heat wave relented to give a few cool days (CMs were actually wearing coats at the front gate). We ended up overall enjoying our days at the park and recapturing a bit of the Disney Magic we were looking for.

We're planning a return trip for next June (the high school my older two attend does a trip every two years and every other one is to WDW) and will stay at Beach Club this round. During our last trip, we used the Skyliner on a few occasions and really loved it. My husband wanted to stay somewhere with a Skyliner station, but the only qualifying resorts are larger resorts or don't accommodate families of 5 adult-sized people, Our travel agent recommend Yacht/Beach Club because of it's proximity to EPCOT's IG Skyliner station. After a brief reservation at YC, a standard room opened at BC so we switched to the more casual of the two.
