Hey everyone, my Wdw trip is just 68 days away!!! We are booking our trip in a day or two, but we decided on Coronado Springs resort. Can anybody tell me opinions and previous times a little more about it? Thank you

Love CSR! Check out my website below

Besides having a great main pool area, CSR offers a few deluxe amenities at a mod price. They are home to the largest hot tub and one of the longest pool slides on Disney property. The pool, slide, arcade and playground area are all located at the main pool.

The rooms have queen beds, a sliding wooden door separating the sink area from the room (can be good for little ones napping in a pack n play) but only one sink.

CSR also offers business class level rooms with access to the Coconino lounge. Other amenities include a fitness center, spa, free wi-fi, tanning beds, a sauna, salon, full menu room service and a night/dance club.

They offer the same toiletries as the deluxes (except GF). CSR has separate shampoo and conditioner instead of the shampoo/conditioner combo at the other mods and values (a small thing, I know, but it means I don't have to pack shampoo and conditioner).

Bus service is terrific and is not shared with another resort.

Thank you!!! It sounds just how we like but we just wanted to make sure CSR was the right pick for us this year!

I've heard very, very nice things about the food court. There's also a table service restaurant on site there, too, but opinion seems a bit more split on that count.

We stayed there a few years ago and really enjoyed it. It is our daughter's favorite resort so far. The Pepper Market was great and we liked both the feature and quiet pools. It's a big resort, but we found it no different than Riverside for the most part. We found it a good location transportation wise. I would stay there again for sure.

We stayed at CSR this past June and loved it. The grounds are Beautiful. I loved walking around the resort at night. The Dig Site pool is very large and has a water slide. You get Deluxe amenities at a Moderate Price. We didn't eat at the resort, so I can't help you out there.

We stayed at CSR for nine days this past Christmas. The grounds are very nice as are the guestrooms. El Centro is nicely arranged and is a fun place to hang out, shop or eat. We only ate at Pepper Market once and that was for breakfast just before we headed out to MCO. The food was fine. Our only complaint about Coronado Springs is that the first MK bus each morning was ALWAYS late getting to the first bus stop. We really had to scramble to get to the park for rope drop. I give CSR a thumbs up, however.

We stayed at CSR two trips ago and it's beautiful and the pools are nice, but a few things made us switch back to POR last year:

-the pepper market is not good as a food court. We didn't like the selection and didn't like having to tip for quick service that is normally just a line-up-and-pay thing at other resorts.
-lots of people in suits walking around because it's the convention resort. It felt strange.
-we just love the theming at POR. Different tastes for different people!

Stayed at CSR last July and enjoyed it. The grounds are beautiful and the theming is great. The bus system is good and doesn't share with other resorts.

The Pepper Market has changed and is a cafeteria style instead of the buffet it used to be. You don't have a server so you don't tip. The selection is decent. A bit of a southwest / Mexican flare.

Stayed at CSR in the Casitas section in March 2013. It's large, but a really beautiful and probably underappreciated resort. There were a couple of conventions happening during my stay, but it really didn't affect me. The most I ever saw conventioneers was at the lakeside margarita bar in the evening, but it just made it pleasantly lively.

To that note, one of my favorite things about CSR is that lakeside bar. You can grab a frozen marg, and sit there by the water or head to one of the hammocks lakeside - makes for a great mid-day break.

I believe the Pepper Market has since changed the service side since you were there, but yes it was like that when we were there too and I did not care for that. Personally, we enjoyed the food options there more so than POR, but both were good in my opinion. As for the convention go'ers, that should not be a surprise for anyone staying at a convention resort. The deluxe convention resorts were the same way, but it didn't bother us personally, as the only time I found you noticed them, was at the restaurants.

I agree with you on the theming too....POR is top notch and we found the resort to be nice and quaint. The boat ride to DD opens up a number of good dining options, which was great. Like you said....everyone has their own likes/dislikes.

A few notes for you, since I recently stayed there for two weeks:

For the going the parks, no hotel that isn't on the monorail is better. Very short bus rides to Epcot, DHS, and DAK.

The pool area is excellent. Lots of action, a decent snack bar/bar, best hot tub on property, waterslide.

Pepper Market is one of the better food courts on property. I like Art of Animation's better, but the Pepper Market will do (if you eat there at lunch/dinner, get the churros for dessert -- they are excellent).

The resort is really very quiet and calming in ambiance -- the opposite of any of the value resorts.

The Maya Grill is really quite good, and you can almost always get a table there, so no need for an ADR.

As with other moderates, the commode/tub has a door separating it from the sink area. But CSR also has sliding doors that can block the sink are off from the rest of the room, making for a convenient changing area, etc. It's really quite helpful.

For going to DtD, the other moderate resorts are much more convenient (POR, POFQ) or moderately more convenient (CBR)
