My .02 having stayed there about half a dozen times it is our favorite resort. It has a good central location. The transportation is the best out of ANY resort. No other resort can come close to how well the busses operate there, plus when its time to leave the park you dont have to battle 300 other people to get to your bus and rarely have to stand for the ride home.

People love to bring up the gratuity at the food court but you just take your food to go and thats the end of that. Besides that it has great food and a great variety and i never had a bad meal there. Never had dinner at the maya grill but i had breakfast and it is a good breakfast buffet for the price.

I guess the conventions really HELP there. Not as many guests visiting the parks.

Yes it is the only place with a service charge but as mentioned if you take your food to go they dont charge you. The service charge is only at the pepper market but the pepper market is some great food.

Odd question, but where do you go to eat your food when you take it out of the PM. I hope it is not back in your hotel room like some animal who has been forced to run away with their dinner.

Thats exactially what i was thinking! maybe there is outside seating by the pools? also could someone explain how the dining works?? i read on mouseplanet that there is a server that comes and gets your drinks and gives you a card that is stamped with what you order and you just pay at the end.....So do they just take your refillable mug and fill it for you? Are you able to fill it yourself during other periods through out the day? Also do they bring the food to you? or is it still a food court where you can go up and make your selections yourself? the only pros i can think of is that your food wont be cold after waiting in line to pay... cons well it sounds like it might take longer to get what is suppose to be a "quick meal"

sorry for all the questions but one more i swear haha.. just wondering if that would be considered a counter service meal or sit down meal since there is a server with the dining plan?

When you enter the Pepper Market you are given a card. You go to different counters to get your food and at each counter your card is stamped. You can then sit and eat. A server will come around and fill your mugs or get anything that you may need. I always went up and filled my mug on my own. When you are finished eating you hand your card over and pay at the register at the exit. I think the 10% service charge is ridiculous for the service provided. When we've stayed at Coronado we were just sure to eat at the parks or DTD. You can walk in to fill your mug at any time. There is also a bakery counter outside of the pepper market and you can have them fill your mug there too if you'd like. I don't know how the dining plan works there.

^^Pretty much! as far as where to go after you take your food, there are some tables outside by the water, its very nice and relaxing, if its raining i go back to the room. Its not so bad going there to eat but to save the 10% its worth it, i dont agree with the charge at all, but i do love the resort.

as far as the dining plan i counts as counter service and you get one large menu item and one of the baked goods or small fruit cup for the desert. It was actually a great way to take advantage of the dining plan cause the portions there are larger than most counter service places at any resort.

Well, I don't like eating in my room since I then can't refill my mug during my meal at least 5 times.

Also, here's something I wonder, if you are on the dining plan, I would assume the 10% surcharge is then included, it would make sense. So then the 10% wouldn't matter.

That would be correct, unless it has changed since last year it would be included with the dining plan.

ALSO -- The Peppermill Market does not take the DDE card. As stated before, the selection is wide and the food is actually pretty good. But it's pricey for a resort food court, especially when they tack on the 10% service charge.

As a whole, I really enjoyed the resort. The big pool is awesome. The rooms are on par with the other moderates. They seem newer, which they are.

It's probably the easiest/closest moderate to all of the parks. The bus has many stops and was never full when I was there in May.

I'd go there again.

were the rooms small? beds not comfy? or just to far from the food court/resturant and pools.. please elaberate haha

Well we had a pool room and I remember it being very loud especially on nights with EMH, though it was x-mas time, the beds I have found are alot more comfy at the deluxe resorts but Ive only stayed at a moderate once my entire life of going there my parents always like the security the contemporary and polynesian offered.

I have stayed there once two years ago with my family for four nights so things might have chaged but when we went we weren't crazy about it. The mousekeeping wasn't the best because we came back to the room and found crumbs all over the sheet in the bed and they didn't want to give us extra towels. Also it's so far from everything. It was hard to get to the parks everyday and then the bus would sometimes stop at fort wilderness which was a pain in the bum. I can't say much about the pool because we never made it over there, we were on the opposite side of the lake. I will say if you just need a place to crash at night that this would most likely be a good place for that but if you want more of an atmosphere I might try a different resort.

I really like CSR. It's where we've chosen to stay while at WDW in September for our honeymoon. To a lot of people, the fact that's the resort is so spread out is a downfall. To me, that's one of the reasons I love it. No matter how full the resort is, you never feel like it's too crowded. The grounds are beautiful and, last stay there, I really enjoyed the walk to and from our room - especially at night strolling by the lake. The main pool is really cool with a huge pyramid, waterslide, and bar that serves drinks and food. I like their food court better than most and they have a great giftshop. ALl the CMs I've encountered there have been really nice and the service has always been good. Transportation is also good - the buses seem to come pretty quickly for each of the parks. We never waited more than 10 minutes and NEVER had so many people that we had to wait for the second bus to come along. My last visit there, there were quite a few conventions going on but it didn't bug us at all. Talking about it has me really excited to get back! 89 days to go!!!

^^ Have fun im totally jealous of you right now. Once in a while if its really hot out i can imagine the ambient music that is playing everywhere. Everytime i smell a water fountain indoors it takes me back there.
