Coronado Springs

I've stayed at many a Disney resort, but never Coronado Springs. I just made reservations for late Feb. Can anyone tell me anything special to request upon check-in. For example at POFQ the corner rooms ROCK and at the All-Stars you don't want to be near the back or you have to hike a mile to catch the bus. Is there anything I should know about this resort?

Well, it depends what you want...for convenience...I'd say try to get into the "Casitas"

They are closest to El Centro (restaurants, Pepper Market, gift shop, check-in, the Marina (place to rent watercraft, bikes, and surreys), etc.)

But...the Casitas are furthest away from the Main Pool (The Dig Site) Each area has a quiet pool though.

The Cabanas are (I believe) the closest to the Dig Site

(Unlike the All-Stars...there is more than one bus stop within the resort...each section has a bus stop and then the main stop)

(Now, take it into affect that this is a VERY LARGE resort...(landwise)...and it is a little bit of a walk to the Dig Site from the Casitas)

How about a map?

Might help you make a decision.

Also on that page is a "fact sheet" that describes the different areas (Casitas, Ranchos & Cabanas).

Hmmm--this map from a different site looks better on my computer.

The hotel has 3 stops and the main entrance.

we stayed at the very last hotel building and it was a very short walk to the bus but a very long walk to the main building. nice hotel. nicely themed. can be very romatic at night.

Even though I have never stayed at the resort it looks like building 9B in the Cabanas section is your best bet. Very close to el centro and it has the bridge to the main pool area. So it doesn't seem like you will have a long walk to get anywhere.

Stayed there in December of '01, and I agree with what the freak says....stay close to the main building. It seems to take forever to walk anywhere within the resort. I'm used to POFQ and the short distances. CS is a very nice resort. I wouldn't disuade anyone from staying there. It was just different from what I was used to. Have fun!

Last summer, I spent 6 days at Coronado Springs and the rest of my trip at the Wilderness Lodge. Personally, I didn't care too much for Coronado Springs. Don't get me wrong, it's very beautiful, but I ended up staying out at the Ranchos. Luckily, my dad had rented a car, so it wasn't bad, but if we didn't have a car, it would have been a LONG walk to get to the main building every morning and night.

If it was me, I would have stayed at Dixie Landings (Port Orleans Riverside), but Coronado is great.:D
