Coronado Springs - What to Expect from Quick Service Rest.

Hey All,

I've been hearing a lot of negative talk about the quick service rest. at Coronado Springs (I think it's called the Pepper Market?)...and was wondering if it's something I should avoid completely...

Also...does Coronado Springs have the refillable mugs?

Thanks, kids!

I actually love the CS at Coronado. To avoid having to pay 10% gratuity, get your food to go. Make sure to tell the hostess that would normally seat you, and then just eat outside on one of the tables! They have a great variety, and at times it may be hard to get everyones food at the exact same time, but I never had any problems!
As for the refillable mugs, yes they do have them. They are the only resort on property that still has a resort specific mug, and it is larger than the YoaMD Mugs were.

I have a pic of the mugs somewhere, Ill post them if I find them!

In addition to Pepper Market - the place with the bad rep and the gratuity added - there is now a really nice grab-n-go place next to it called Rix Cafe. They have chicken salad, flatbreads, hot sandwiches, fruit plates, drinks, desserts, bakery goods, etc.. We never went near the Pepper Market when we were at CSR last year because the Rix was so good.

I agree with AccordCutie - Rix is amazing! We were there in December - and I admit we don't often eat at the hotel. But we had one meal left on the dining plan on our way to the airport. We go a meal at Rix to go and I have to admit it was one of our best meals! Pepper Market looked nice - but the tables right outside have great views and are comfortable (we did check those out!)

I love the Pepper Market. They have a huge variety of differant foods from pizza, pasta, sandwiches, steaks, tex mex and a very large bakery section. The reason for the Gratuity is that you get your own food, but someone seats you and brings you your drinks and keeps them full for you. Also the pepper market is the only place that you can get a ribeye steak with mashed potatoes and veggie for one counter service credit if you happen to be on the dining plan.

Here's a picture of the CSR refillable mug. Also, we love Pepper Market. It is hit or miss with most people. Rumor has it they are turning it into a buffet like Boma. They've already started rehabbing some of the stations. Unfortunately, the ribeye is only on the dinner menu right now (they took it off the lunch menu).
