Hey guys,

I'm going to be staying at the CSR in August for 8 nights. Do you have any tips or opinions on this resort?

Its our honeymoon and our first Disney vacation - I want a near perfect setting :)

We will be staying here for the 1st time Sept. 29th - Oct. 9th and I can't wait. We stayed at CBR last trip and we loved it and from what I hear CSR is even better. I've done alot of research and my only suggestion would be to pick which area you want your room in because the resort is pretty big. We are hoping for Cabana's because it's between the main pool area and El Centro. Also, CSR is the only moderate with queen size beds.

I just got back yesterday from my 12th trip to CSR. It was fabulous! They just started showing movies at the main pool area on Mon, Wed and Fri at 8pm. Check out my CSR website for loads of info!!

Best moderate resort, by a long shot. It feels deluxe without paying the deluxe prices.

Tip: CSR is huge, there is no getting around that, and there isn't much in terms of shade, so midday walks under the hot Florida sun can be brutal. If you can, try to request a room in the Casitas or Cabanas. While I love the theme around the Rancheros, it's honestly too far away from the main building.

Only real plus about the Racheros is its close the pool, which if you are going to spend a lot of time there, you won't mind being stuck in the area. And the pool is perhaps the BEST pool in all of WDW. (Some may argue Stormalong Bay at BC/YC deserves the title.)

I couldn't tell you about the bus service or anything since I always take a car to WDW because my idea of a vacation is doing things on my schedule not someone else's :p

Oh and you'll hear might hear some criticism both here and elsewhere about CSR because it's convention hotel and some feels it takes them out of the "magic." I honestly don't need to be hit over the head with Disney iconography 24/7 to feel like I'm having fun, and if anything I'd feel lucky that I'm not begin tortured by being brought to Disney yet having to be stuck at a convention. Anyway, when I was there in April, I never saw anyone in business attire or looking like they were attending a convention. Not surprised either, the convention center is so far removed for the rest of the resort, chances you'll see throngs of businessmen and women is slim. My understanding is most of convention attendees stay in the Casitas area.

If the possibility of a convention worries you, check out Buzz2001's site. There is a list of the convention activities happening throughout the year. (Check it out the site in general, reading it made me feel I definitely made the right choice after perusing it.)

A lot of people say this is their least favorite out of the moderates, but it is my favorite and I have stayed at a bunch of different resorts on property. I stayed at the Poly about a month ago and even though it was nice to be near MK & the monorail and to see MK from the hammock on the beach and had a slightly bigger room with a patio, I still missed CSR. I feel overall it is the best for transportation. The resort is beautiful and easy to navigate.

Based on my experiences there the bus service was great. Love the main pool. If you booked a water view room, request Cabanas 8A or 8B. It is close to the main pool and Bus Stop 4. Unless this changed, most buses go to stop 1 after stop 4 so if you didn't want to walk to El Centro hop on a bus (i think the exception is the bus to downtown disney/typhoon lagoon) and you can get off on stop 1 to go to El Centro, but the walk is nice & scenic.

POFQ now has queen beds as well.

Thanks for the advice - I will definetly try to book that room!

Casitas 1 has free wireless internet access or it did as an experiment when I went may 30-jun 3. Also having extra cash is necessary when dining at the pepper market they have actually servers who refill your beverages and when cashing out with credit card, room card, or dining plan leaving extra for a tip is not an option.

Good to know!

If you do eat there (if on dining plan its the best counter service of all the mods/value by far) take your food to go and avoid the gratuity.

Also the buses there seem a lot less crowded and more frequent than the other mods. I have stayed there a hand full of times and if I have a choice I will go back again. I really like how they re did the rooms a few years back.

Enjoy, I'm jealous.

We stayed there last year. It is a great resort with or without kids. Since it is your honeymoon, this is the best place if you cannot go Deluxe. It is more of an adult atmosphere. There is a little bit of a walk, but not too bad. You can always hop a bus to the Lobby since it is the last stop on the loop.

We stayed at Coronado in 2009. It is very pretty and romantic, especially at night. We were not bothered at all by the convention attendees. In fact, when I would occasionally see someone in business attire it just made me appreciate my vacation even more :)

We stayed in Cabanas 9B in room #9657. It was a perfect location. Not far from the pool, just steps from the bus stop, and as close as you can get to El Centro and the Pepper Market. This was important to us as we buy refillable mugs and after a day in the parks don't want to walk too far to get a soda. Also, the room is on the 2nd floor and is a corner room with a view of the water.

Have a great time!!

I too forgot to include that you may want to request a 2nd floor room as the view of the water is awesome day or night! I just got back a month ago and i want to go back. i haven't stayed at CSR for a few years now... :(
