Hi All,

My wife and I are staying for the first time at Coronado Springs Sept 22-29 and was just curious if there is any way to find out if a convention is going on the week we are there??

This is the onyl moderate we have never stayed at so we wanted to try something new...

Don't worrry about it. There's always a 'convention' or 'sales meeting' or something going on at WDW. Some big, some small. Coronado Springs is a 'convention' resort along with some others but that doesn't mean it's going to be overrun.
Chances are you won't be on the same schedule as those attending it.

10+ trips and never an issue with a convention other than the Pepper Market being crowded during tradition dining times but that would be the case for any resort.

I like it because the conventions keep the pool and buses less crowded.

I think youll find that most conventioneers won't be in the way other than a little extra traffic around the bar and outside of the pepper market.

I have stayed there while a convention was going on, and you may have to adjust your bus schedule a bit.

Huge groups like to stay together and we discovered that they would crowd a bus and there would be no room for us...but we just waited for the next one, and had it all to ourselves.

The big convention goers don't usually swarm in the mornings, though...so it's a good possibility with a convention going on, you still might not run into them at all.

We stayed at Coronado at the end of Feburary and they had two conventions going on during our stay. Not once did we have a problem with them. Actually, those convention folks were some the nicest people we chatted with during our entire stay.

I don't think you will have any problems, even if there is a convention going on during your stay. Have a great trip.

I hate to say it but we have had a problem with certain conventioners in September of '06. They were drunk, loud, disorderly, and did some on site damage that we saw firsthand.

Coranado Springs is still our favorite resort, we even prefer it to The Grand Floridian but of the four times we have stayed there, we did have issues one time. I wouldn't let that stop you from going because we had a bad experience but we were definitely surprised that it was happening to begin with and then just kind of seemed to be tolerated, (it only got better after thier convention was over).

Most of the conventions want to keep the magic as much as the leisure guests. Unfortunately, there have been a couple that have upset the balance. These conventions are usually asked not to return.

When you check in, it is always fair to ask if there is a convention in house that might interfere with your pleasure. If there is, they will try to find another place for you, or at least move you to a quiet part of the resort.

Spring is the time for most youth sports competitions and graduation parties at WDW......hint, hint!

Have stayed at CSR several times and each time there has been some sort of convention going on, but it never caused us any issues. Pepper Market is a bit more crowded, but other then that, a convention being held at the resort would never stop me from staying there. It is my favorite moderate resort by far!
