we are taking our 2 and 4 year old girls for their first trip this fall and staying at coronado springs. i would like a room that is close to the dig site but also a bus stop and be a standard room rate.

Actually I would think you were prefer to be closer to the Main Building as this is where all the restaurants, food court, store etc is. The Dig site is absolutely lovely, but it is directly on the opposite side of the resort from the Main Building. As far as Standard rooms, those are all over the resort and shouldnt be an issue at all. Belle

I have stayed at the Coronado twice now. If you want to say near the dig site and the main pool, probably the Rancheros are closest. Each section has its own bus stop.

If you want to stay by the main building with the restaurants, like Belle suggested, request the Casitas section. Each section does have a "quite pool."

It is a 15 acre lake!!! Maybe a 15-20 minute walk not pushing yourself. And that is if you are an adult. Kids may be a touch slower especially after running in the parks all day. When I get home tonight Ill give you two websites that are fan based websites specifically for the Coronado. Great information on all of them!!! Belle

Walking may be an issue but if you go to the nearest bus stop and take any bus except downtown disney you can get back to the lobby and take the downtown disney bus back to your bus stop. they have posters at each stop to help you out with that

I stayed at Coranado a couple of years ago so things might have changed.

We did not request a room and got put in the Rancheros which were incredibly far away from the main building. If you are going to eat breakfast or get a snack prior to going to the parks I would suggest staying away from the Rancheros. Plus getting on the bus at the main building pick up takes you right to the parks instead of the other bus stops and then the parks

Personally I would suggest the Cabanas first and the Casitas 2nd but they are very close. Then depending on your priority of Swimming at the dig site or use of the main building, suggest a room closer to the higher priority of the two.

Have fun!!!!!!! As usual with Disney resorts I have stayed at, I found it to be amazing.

Staying in the Castitas will put you close to the main building and the restaurants. I would recommend staying in either Castitas 1 or maybe even Castitas 3 or 4. Castitas 1 will get you next to the main building. Just aout the back door of the main building is a walkway across the lake to the Dig Site which is a short walk even for kids. Castitas 1 will also get you close to the bus stop for the main building, but this typically a busy bus stop in the morning. Castitas 3 or 4 will get you very close to a less used bus stop, but then you have a little farther walk to the main building or the dig site. Castitas 3 has the fitness room and Laundry mat along with one of only 2 lap pools on Disney property.

Good luck on your room and have fun on your trip!!!
