Coral Reef...

We ate at Coral Reef for the first time this past Monday. I thought it was excellent. I've seen some negative reviews, but I don't know where they've come from. Our service was super good, the food was great, and the atmosphere was equally awesome, even though we had a booth along the back wall (but we did have a party of 6). We'll definitely be back.

No matter what. Experience it once.
I think this place depends on the menu. Many years ago I had fettucine alfredo with seafood and it was awesome. I have gone in recent times and it was ok. They did run out of an appetizer I wanted and they just asked us if they could offer two soups on the house, which really was a nice thing to do.

But honestly. It is out of the park, but if you you would like to get there and if it is doable because it is pricier than Coral Reef, go to Flyish FIsh at the Boardwalk. It is amazing. Ate there for a dinner while on my honeymoon, and we could kick ourselves for not going sooner on other trips to WDW.

We ate....tried a bunch of things and everything was good. But somebody else would have to comment on how good it would be for kids.

There is nothing wrong with Coral Reef -- have had fine dinners there and the atmosphere is great. BUT, being in Epcot, you have so many much much better choices...Coral Reef is sort of a last resort restaurant if all the ones you like are already booked...

Le Cellier may fit into our schedule, thanks for mentioning this :)

I am not sure from my memory that they can accommodate a large party on that first level by the fish tanks. I remember that the largest table was like for 6 maybe 8. Bigger tables were higher up...If you do not get down low, it is harder with kids. Also it is dark inside which makes eating with a baby harder. Via Napoli will probably have more choices that will appeal to the kids. Can you guess where I am going? I would choose Via Napoli any day over Coral Reef.

Coral Reef is fantastic. The seafood is excellent, and to be honest, they also serve one of the best steaks on property. My children always loved it and still do. I would reccomend it without hesitation.

Jimmy Thick- LONG waits for a table though...

We thought our main courses were excellent (i had steal, bf had lobster ravoli). The dessert (the wave) was over done. But we enjoyed watchig the fish, we wernt seated next to the tank but still had a great view. Two downfalls are i found it very loud inside and our server was not attentive to us..

We had a party of 5 there in Dec 2007. Unfortunately we do not share many of the views listed. The service was terrible. We had dirty silverware given to use at our table. The waitress actually failed to put my entre in all together (Though my salad was delivered with everone elses) and when it finally showed up it was cold and the rest of my part had eaten already. It is actually the only place we have each said that we will never go back to eat at again. We have had no issues anywhere else throughout the parks/resorts. For some reason they were off their game that day. It was so out of the norm for us at a Disney Park.

Yeah, doesn't sound like Disney...probably wont choose Coral Reef for our next trip, but maybe in future trips

Keep in mind that the above happened five years ago. There have been at least two changes in head chef (that I know of) since 2007. It's highly likely that the vast majority of the wait staff has turned over since then, too. The menu has undergone significant changes since then. Pretty much the only thing you can count on being the same as in 2007 is the noise level and the view.

Very True Melissa, But at the same time I have no problem finding other locations to dine at Epcot. It may have been a bad experience 5 years ago but still one that left a very sour taste in my mouth. I have had no bad experiences at any of the other dining locations. I'm just saying that our 14 day trip with the dining plan this December will not include the Coral Reef. It wasn't even a menu issue. Ultimately bad service overall killed it for us.

I think it's valid to not return given your experience there and how many other options there are. I just hoped to not scare off ImagineerDude completely. I really like the Coral Reef despite its shortcomings (noise, slower than average service).

Despite others bad experiences I'm sure we will try it SOMETIME soon
