Coral Reef Restaurant

Hey Guys,

We're thinking of taking my little princess to Epcot for her 3rd birthday in February.... and we want to book a sit down restaurant and get a cake for her...

My daughter and I love aquariums... and I think the coral reef restaurant would be perfect for her.

My question... do they offer more than seafood? My family isnt really big on seafood... never been fans (though I keep telling myself to try it now that my tastes have matured.... don't want to spend $30 to try a piece of fish to see if I like it.)

Help!

Yes, they have a couple non-seafood dishes on the adult and kids menus.

See http://www.wdwmagic.com/Dining/Coral-Reef-Restaurant/Menus.htm

Normally I would advise against getting steak at a fish place, but last October a member of our party had the New York Strip which was excellent.

Cool, thank you.

Though when I tried to make a reservation, I got told there's no availability. I should know better than to try to get reservations only a month in advance. :)

EDIT: Got on the phone with Disney Dining. The only availability for coral reef was at 8:10 pm. I'm not waiting that long for dinner, especially since its past my daughter's usual bedtime. The CM sounded sad that we couldnt get our first choice for her birthday dinner... but was able to get us in at 5:10pm at the Princess Storybook at Norway. We loved it last time... and what better way to spend your birthday as a toddler than to have the princesses tell you happy birthday.

My wife does not eat fish either, but she raves about the steak at the coral reef and the chocolate wave dessert is GREAT. Enjoy if you ever get there.

That sounds like a little bit of pixie dust hit you with getting in to the princess dinner for her birthday, I'm sure they will make a huge deal about her there. Have a great time.

I've eaten there a couple of times and never had seafood (not that I don't like it, I'm just always tempted by other options). My wife is a vegetarian (including not eating fish) and she's always been fine there too although I can't remember what she ate.

As it's your Daughters birthday, tell them when you make the reservation and again when you arrive at the restaurant. If you don't mind waiting a little while you can ask them for an aquarium side table which is truly spectacular. Don't get me wrong, all the tables are good but you can't beat sitting right next to it.

If you haven't made the reservation yet, do so right now. It's a busy restaurant! If you change your mind, just give them a call and cancel the reservation.

Turns out there wasn't any availability for Coral Reef. But, based on your suggestions... I may try and get out there sometime soon anyway.

Thanks!
