The "problem" with Carousel of Progress and The Timekeeper is that Disney is growing increasingly more cheap and only operating these attractions when they get larger attendance - ie. Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, summer. This is a sad comment on where things are heading. These are two of my favorite attractions and I was disturbed to see that WDW's Tomorrowland is suffering the same fate as Disneyland's. Is it just coincidence that both have large sections (Disneyland - ex-Rocket Rods track, ex-Circlevision theater, ex-Submarine Voyage, ex-upper level of Starcade) that sit unused and neglected? What really sucks about this is WDW still has the attractions there and intact. They COULD operate them. But they don't. I mean really. If they have to close something, why not the Swiss Family Treehouse? I know, it doesn't save them much on staffing or electricity, but it's not a big draw either. I'm guessing this means Disneyland will never get Timekeeper as I'd always hoped. Sigh.

Why are these attractions seasonal ?????

I posted why they were seasonal a little earlier.

Ironic that both the Timekeeper and COP hold views that Walt always stressed...which made his company what it was. Starting with a dream, and anything can happen. Or in Timekeeper, things are improbable - but never impossible. These are MAJOR points Walt Disney always wanted to demonstrate, and in such an entertaining way!

COP had its last major update in 1994, which brought the original song into WDW, updated the finale scene, added new dialog, sets, musical scores, and a new, fresh theming. It's the best, I think, yet. Here and there props are remodeled and new carpeting is put in, but nothing major since 1994.

While I would like to see it continually updated, say, 2004, I am not comfortable with this at all. Mainly because I am very nervous, based on refurbishment treatment I've seen to other attractions, such as Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room. I am very fearful, therefore, and Disney really needs to bring in folks that worked on the 1994 version to keep it in line.

....ya think???...i am really trying not to be rude at all...my point is simply this....we know the problems....what we need is action....simply voicing our concerns about where the Disney Co. is heading is NOT DOING ANYTHING.....there are 100's of web sites/forums out there saying the same thing....the customer is always right.....the one thing that influences Di$ney more then anything else is...................$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$............look people lets stop about it and do something about it......everyone on this site has one thing alike...we all love disney and everything about it.....the problem is...if we boycout it...its going to get worse....buget cuts.....so lets exercise our bill of rights (can't you hear the AA theme playing now) and LET DISNEY KNOW HOW WE FEEL!!!!!

i dont know, thats just my thoughts, i could be wrong............................anyone????

I agree with many of your statements. If the Walt Disney Company is going against its own foundations, then why does it even exist....that's MY question...

Hey, Griz. You know I agree with your views overall, but I think that last statement was a little harsh.

Not everyone will agree with us, but I think stronger arguments are made by keeping the story of Walt's vision and its relevance today alive, than by bashing the people who make the decisions.

I also know that you have a lot of positive things to say about the future hopes of Walt Disney World (like when you said that you were still excited about Mission:Space despite other more current setbacks). I would just caution you to be careful that your comments of frustration don't overstate the negative and hurt your overall optimism and enthusiasm for Walt Disney World. :animwink:

No offense intended. Just a friendly "Whoa, Nelly!" :animwink:

I do miss COP and wish they could open it at least a couple of times during the day. I know people are upset about what's going on in some instances with Disney but if they closed it all together, I would be devistated. It's the only place we go to dream and be kids again. I absolutley love it and don't want to see it go under. What people forget is that it is till a business and they are going to cut costs when things get bad. I complained tremendously about the early openings when they took that away. I was told bya reservation clerk when I called to make reservations that people wanted the Caravan of Characters come to certain Disney hotels for the kids instead of early openings. I had such an argument about that. I said who did they poll? All the families with babies? There was such a stink about it, that they finally brought it back. People can change things by expressing their feelings but if we complain about everything, it could close.........and that would be a travesty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
