The official word:

"Maelstrom at Norway will be closed for refurbishment from July 15, through October 18, 2002, with a rescheduled opening on October 19, 2002."

No, wait, you've made my whole Fourth of July weekend!
I am going to be in the "World" Oct. 19 - 26 and was
hoping Maelstrom would be refurbished by then. It is my husband's favorite ride. (He also loves the Norweigan babes in the gift shop.) We will be in Epcot on the 20th so I am so excited to get to see a "fresh" Disney refurb. You know, before the masses have managed to make it have that "not so fresh feeling".
I really appreciate the heads up and will pencil it
back in to my touring plan.

I assume you mean both rides. Also, where did you see it wasn't on the seasonal schedule?
