Is Donald's splash pad open? Is there anywhere in the parks to get wet without having to wait for Grizzly, where I can't control how wet I get?

This is the time of year when I wish that PotC used inner tubes instead of boats. Seriously, how literally cool would that be?

ETA ok, and iasw too.

That is one of the best ideas I've ever seen on this website. 😍 🤣 😍

How have they not offered that yet as a Lightning Lane After Hours upcharge? I would pay big money to be able to do that.

Donald's splash pad isn't open yet (as of this weekend at least). But you can splash water on yourself from the nearby fountain with the kids there.

There's a pic today on MiceChat of a kid basically leaning so far into the fountain he's about to go in head first!

It was behind walls as recently as this passed weekend I believe. Rumor from the Youtube community was they were regrading it as water was not flowing to the drain correctly.

So hopefully once that is done they will open it.

Disney must hire the worst contractors ever.

Just like the other parts of TT that we've seen redone post-refurb, I think issues from the heavy rains caused this. Not that they couldn't also be hiring bad contractors too....
Maybe but they should have compensated for that. How hard is it to run a hose and test?

Knotts must have hired better contractors. It's Fiesta Village isn't sinking into the ground and it went through the same rains.

I have no idea, but its clear they did test prior to opening hence why it didn't open when the land opened.

Since Disney most likely won't build a water park in California, maybe I'll build one with indoor innertube dark rides 🤣
I would buy an annual pass!

In Hawaii we did the Kauai Backcountry Adventures inner tubing through the Lihue Plantation irrigation ditch and tunnel system. That could be a template for one of your rides.

Ya gotta go over to DCA and stand by the waterfall that is located in the wooded area ‘behind’ the waiting area for GRR.
It’s lovely back there, but also a great spot to cool off!

The water spray from this ornamental waterfall typically reaches the walkway and you can just stand there and soak it all in.
When the wind is blowing in a certain direction, it is delightfully refreshing.
Not a lot of Guests seems to know about this area.

I seem to recall a water park in Colorado that was building a lazy river type thing that had an indoor dinosaur section or something like that.

But I did find this - screens instead of AA's, (and no dark waterfalls) but the idea is there.

Edit:
Perhaps this is what I was thinking of?

You're in the correct water park (Water World outside of Denver), but the ride with the dinosaurs is Journey to the Center of the Earth.
