As you type in your serach query it brings up the number of results for that string.... 'tis quite cool.

Also going to www.google.com redirects you to your local google version (ie, it takes me to .co.uk, I guess this is done on your IP address)

I don't see them really as competition. Yahoo is a web-portal, and Google is a search engine.

I think this is really cool. Not only does it give suggestions of sites or searches but shows how many sites are found with that particular query.

As for Yahoo vs. Google.... Google has Yahoo beat, without a doubt. Google represents high quality, much like Pixar. Yahoo is confusing, and filled with ads. In my opinion, there is no comparison...
