Cooking at home or Eating at WDW for Thanksgiving

Will you be cooking at home, eating at family or friends, or eating at Walt Disneyworld :) on Thanksgiving?

Hubby and I are going to our son's house and he will be the cook. He cooks and his girlfriend cleans - great team. He's already made pumpkin cheesecake, chocolate mouse and sweetbread pudding with englace for dessert and the turkey is soaking in the brine right now. We'll also have peas, carrots and mushrooms, home made cranberry relish, carmelized onions, mashed potatoes and gravy, ciabatta bread and homemade sausage stuffing, and home made rolls. I will be bringing the candied sweet potatoes, butternut squash with brown sugar, and turnips. Our dinner will be timed around the Patriots football game - we are in RI. He's planning dinner for about 2:00 at half time.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE! :sohappy:

I'm intending to leave in about an hour so to go to Pop Century since they usually offer a Thanksgiving meal. It's what I did last year after my plans fell through. This year though I had nothing planned as usual.

Cooking at home today! We spent this past Sunday with our extended family, so it's just the 4 of us today. A nice, quiet day at home. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

We has rservations at Tony's for 12:40. I was HUGELY impressed. Turkey (3 huge thick slices of it) dressing, mashed potatoes / gravy, yams, green beans, cranberry sauce all served on a platter to you. Pumpkin cheesecake was served for dessert. It was very yummy and we stuffed ourselves. :)

Happy 'Day After' Thanksgiving. We went to Charlestown, WV for the day on Thursday and had fun playing slots. Today, Friday we are cooking our traditional dinner with daughter and son in law coming. Going out to rake leaves while the turkey cooks. Hope everyone that was lucky enough to be in Disney World had a fantastic time. (39 days til we go!)

I made LeCellier's cream cheese mashed potatos for the big family dinner at the in-law's today. I also made strawberry tiramisu. Mmmmm....

Happy Thanksgiving to all. I'm soooo thankful for this site, the friends I've made here, and the killer WDW adventure we just had. Doesn't get much better, I tell ya.

I enjoyed my Thanksgiving dinner with my family, but man, I'd love to take them to WDW's Liberty Tree Tavern for Thanksgiving dinner some day. The Colonial ambience and Liberty's excellent food would make it an awesome holiday meal.

It has been 2 years since we have had Thanksgiving day dinner at WDW. This year we cooked up a huge Thanksgiving day feast at our camp in the Adirindack mountains of NY. Had some freinds over and enjoyed the quite and serene surroundings. It has been cold up here, but no snow. Then one week from today we will be on a plane bound for Orlando and will have missed the Thanksgiving week crowds.

I don't think I would want to be at WDW, or any restaurant, for Thanksgiving.

We go over my brothers house, everybody cooks, talks, jokes, eats, drinks, and falls over. This year was 10 adults and 7 kids (We were missing 6 or 7 of the 'normal' crew this year)

Appetizers
Cucumber sandwiches
Cinnamon sugar roasted pecans
Bacon wrapped smoked sausages
Bacon wrapped shrimp
Deviled Eggs (2 kinds)
Olives

Dinner
Two Turkeys (one deep fried, one roasted)
Mashed Potatoes
Candied Sweet Potatoes
Stuffing
Stuffing Balls
Corn
Glazed Carrots
Cranberry

Dessert
Pumpkin Pie
Cheesecake
"sticks" - hard to explain, baked dough with cinnamon and sugar on it.

A variety of beers and hard cider was had by all.

Just not the sort of event you are going to have at a restaurant. Sorry, I know it's Disney, but it would just not feel right for me.
