We are finally narrowing our resorts down to these 2! We have 3 children ages 14, 11, and 10! Any comments, suggestions for those who have been to these resorts. Pros & Cons! They both look Nice. I'm also checking out reasonably priced eating places. A few years back stayed at the Dixie Landings (Now Port orleans) and was very happy with their restaurnt and Deli. i didn't think the prices were to out of line! Thanks:D

Towers vs. Poly

Well.....I have a feeling that most people on these boards will say go to the Polynesian. Personally, i have always loved the Contemporary. Nothing like waking up, walking out of your room and having the monorail RIGHT THERE. Want to eat breakfast?? Go to the concourse and eat while the monorail passes right above you!!! I must say that it is truly wonderful. I simply LOVE the Contemporary.

If you have been down before, ask you kids what they thought about Adventureland in the Magic Kingdom. One reason I like the Poly so much is because it has a very "Adventureland" feel to it, and Adventureland happens to be one of my most favorite land in the MK.

Bottom line, both places are wonderful to stay. Actually, they are some of the most incredible places you can stay at in the WDW vacation kingdom. I am a DVC member now and stay at the Boardwalk, putting me right in EPCOT Center's backyard (my fav park). Hope this helps in your decision making. Post questions if you have them. I will try to answer them.

Thanks... I have to kind of agree with you about waking up and walking right onto the Monorail! What are the prices for Breakfast at the Contemporary? On the otherhand Adventure does sound exciting...decisions, decisions....:animwink:

The Contemporary Tower rooms are the best rooms in WDW. If your willing to spend for a tower room, GO FOR IT, you won't be disappointed!

The Polynesian is real nice, but nothing compares to the Tower rooms.

Leave your room, 30 seconds later your in line for the monorail. The Tower rooms are the best.

And of course, the best arcade on property as well!

This is true, but, the Contemporary is the first stop on the loop and so you've got another 3 stops before hitting MK 15-20 minutes later. I think the boat from Poly might even be faster than taking the monorail from the Poly. The Poly also has a much more laidback atmosphere. It's a matter of taste.

From what I've heard, walking from the Contemporary is probably the fastest way (yet least contemporary). I'll definitely stay in the Tower someday but for the view not for the monorail.

With a sister who is a pool fanatic, this is the first thing that came to mind. Would your kids rather have a slide? cuz poly has one, contemp doesn't. Also, make sure you and your family aren't afraid of heights, that could be bad! hehehe wherever you go, it will be GREAT! (don't miss chef mickeys!!)

The Contemporary Resort pool HAS a slide also now.

Perhaps it's been a while since you've been there but I know it's been there for at least 1 year..maybe 2

The Contemporary does have a slide and a nice pool.

The Poly does have a new pool, just put in last spring, it does have a cool slide. The GF also has the new same kind of pool as the Poly. So, you stay at the Contemporary and one day hop on the Monorail and try-out the new GF and Poly pools.

i have stayed at contemporary many, many times from garden room to top floor of tower.the tower cant be beat is my favorite. if you are trying to save any money the garden rooms are the same size just not same view of course. if you happen to be a anual passholder.the rates can sometimes be great. i stayed in the tower for 154.00 with the AP rate. if you are not a AP, depending on your length of stay it almost works out to get just one AP for the rate, the savings can sometimes pay for itself for the money saved. tell the reservation person you will buy one before check in and see what they can do to save you $$$. even if you only go once a year i promise te AP will pay for itself on one trip with the discounts on merchndise at world of disney plus the free derserts on "some meals". check it out and compare.

Tramp ... That is a fantazmic picture of the MK from the top of the Contemporary. I spent 5 minutes just staring at it picking out the landmarks. Great Job!

I would like to stay at both resort at least once, someday ...

i stayed in the tower in december. I was on the 10th floor with mk view. It was the best. Just sitting on the balcony watching the fireworks was great. If you want a mk view make sure you request it . Its the same price for either side of the tower.

I just stayed at the Contemporary for 9 nights. We stayed on the 11th floor and the fireworks at night are just amazing. If you go during a busy time of year, be sure and call about 4 days ahead to request a MK view- its worth it!

The Contemporary has a hot tub next to the water slide(it's kind of hidden), the other is in the middle of the pool, the Contemporary has two hot tubs. Their not HUGE, but they do the job, probably fit 10 people for each?

The Grand Floridian has that big hot tub(it has it's own area) with the old pool, and I'm not sure if the new GF pool has a hot tub.
