Hi!

I was reading through a holiday brochure, and came across the contemporary. I saw it said

"tower rooms" and "garden wing"

oould someone explain what the difference is???

are the towers rooms the ones in the main block with the "monorail going thru it"?

I would feel really annoyed if I was not in the main building! because in the brochure, the focus is on the main building (the tower rooms), and also THE MONORAIL GOES THROUGH IT! :D

any info would be greatly appreciated!

thankyouu! :) :) :D

Yep, you are correct the tower is the main building that the monorail goes through. The garden wings are on the side of the building and I think that they are two or three storied each.

How come you do not want to stay in the tower? My family has stayed in the tower a couple of times and we have loved it. Especcially if you are on the MK side, you can watch the fireworks right from your balcony.

I hope that this helps you Al.

Question....

I am kinda planing a trip to go hopefully in April/May...but if I dont I will just go in the fall...

The question I have is... If you stay in the Tower....is the Monorail loud...Like will it wake me up if I decide to sleep in...?

DMC,
I do not remember the monorail being loud but we were on the opposite side of the tower and like the 9th or 10th floor. It was not loud though where we were.

I stayed on the 11th floor, never heard the monorail from inside my room.

Also, if your going to stay at the Contemporary, I would only stay in the Tower, don't stay in the garden wings.

The Garden Wings are like any other hotel, with a bunch of screaming kids running down the hallways. I'm so glad I upgraded to a Tower room.

The tower rooms are the best on property. :D

the monrail is not loud at all. you can stand right next to it and barely hear it. definatly ask for a tower room with a magic kingdom view. also request the highest floor possible. Its a great hotel. I just stayed there in december. you pay a little more for the tower but it is worth it.

I stayed 8 times at the Contemporary and the Monorail is really soundless. Maybe is that you are too tired of walking the parks, but in fact it is really incredible how you don't feel anything when a "train" goes inside your hotel. The only time it can bother you is if you let your window open since you'll hear the monorail movement from outside the hotel.

Garden Wings are also nice, I just stayed once there, but they were not the same as TOWER. When you are in you are in, you don't need to do anything but take elevators and escalators...

The Monorail is not loud at all...However...

The music from Chef Mickeys can be irritating if you are in a tower room and attempt to go to sleep before 10:00PM. :brick:

I am usually so tired from long hours in the park that nothing bothers my sleep for very long.:snore:

are the tower club rooms or the tower concierge rooms on both sides of the tower or just the 7 seas lagoon side. i don't want to pay the extra money and get put in a room with a bay lake view?

The Tower Club is a standard floor with a Lounge near the elevators. So they DO have both sides. I may sound crazy, but I PREFER a Bay Lake View. Its much more quieter in the morning. On the MK side you can hear the buses going to the MK.

Bay Lake is wonderful, at night you get the Bay Lake Light Parade (I don't remember the official name) which is really amazing and worth the view from any floor in the Contemporary. However, Seven Seas Lagoon includes the monorail route, MK and all the beauty of the other resorts.

Well, Neighbor, I have to agree with you again, I meant to agree with you in the other Contemporary thread.

We had the Bay Lake view, very nice view, nice and quiet, and you can yell down to your party at the pool! And yes, as Luau mentioned, you do get the best view of the Electrical Water parade from the Bay Lake view.

The MK view you do get to see the MK, but you also have to endure the Parking lot.

But then again, any Tower room is FINE FOR ME!
