Contemporary Refurbishment ?

I have to choose between staying in the main bldg of the contemp, or wilderness lodge. Im going October 12-15. When will the contemporary refurbishment be done ? That will influence my decision.

Rehab aside, I'd say Contemporary. The monorail access can't be beat when it comes to park transportation.

As for the rehab...It may or may not be done by then, I've yet to hear an exact date, just this summer or early fall. So it'd be close, but I definately don't think it would influence your overall vacation that much.

I'd say contemporary, because it's my favorite resort, and because of the transportation advantage, and I'm not sure when the rehab ends. However, I've never stayed at the WL.

Regardless of the refurb I would stay at the Contemp. I really don't like the Wilderness

LOL! I was about to post the exact same topic! I am staying in the garden wing september 29- october 5 and I am hoping it will be renovated. I put in a room request. I've heard from another site that the tower is complete except for concierge levels. Just passing on what I've heard...

Wilderness Lodge , Hands down. Want to take the monotail, you can by just taking the boat to the contemp. But, they also have a boat that goes directly to MK. WL is wonderful!

i hate to break it to you, but if you're going *this* october, i don't think you're going to get in to the contemporary. i tried to get a room there through *four* different travel agencies for three different weeks in october and november, and ther were no rooms to be had. i was told that the demand in the fall was really high for the contemp due to the excitement over the refurbishment and that the contemp also has a lot of conventions in the fall as well.

I say WL because that more my style. I dont really like modern buildings.
