Garden wing or Tower room? Theme park or Bay Lake view? Really, you can't go wrong with anything at the Contemporary - it's my all time favorite resort. Make sure you walk down to the dock at least once to catch the electric water pageant - kinda cheesy but so much fun. And it has the best view of the castle and fireworks IMO. I jsut love sitting on my balconey late at night with an adult beverage just looking at the castle lights. It is a little chaotic and noisy at times with Chef Mickey's and the monorail, but to me that's half the fun.

when are you going? California grill is closing in feb for refurb. Great place to stay, and you have a great view for firworks and waking up in the morning just looking at the park and monorail. Contemporay has alot of atmoshpere and things to do, it's the all around resort for dinig and drinks. Great choice!

I stayed in a garden room at the contemporary once. I was a little disappointed. It's not even in the main building. If you can upgrade at all and get into the main building it may be more fun!!! Theam park view is always a plus, you get private seating for the fireworks!!!

I saw that it wasn't in the main building. Just hoping it isn't too long a walk to the pathway to MK or to the monorail. That is the main reason we are staying there. With a 4 year old turning 5 on this trip definitely want to be close to all of the action at MK!

Stayed in Garden View rooms 3 times. All were great. Old North Wing before it was demolished for BLT and twice in South Garden Wing. Do not worry about not being in the Tower. Garden view is closer to EWP and laundry (I know, not huge to most, but I liked it). I enjoyed the brief walk to the main building for drink refills as the grounds are superbly landscaped and there is that great background music to help set the magical mood. Also close to pools so those late afternoon and evening swims are very convenient. Save the $ and stay in Garden View. You can see the fireworks on the Concourse landing on the 4th floor outside the Arcade, music and all. Sightlines are great. Walk down the dock one night to watch the EWP. It is simply incomparable. Take a boat to FW or WL or even MK. Monorail and buses close by too. Enjoy.

We've stayed in the Garden Wing and loved it! It was such a quick walk to the tower and also an easy walk to MK. I liked the trails around the property for general walking as well. You can also take a boat from there to WL if you want to check anything out over there. Plus the electrical water pageant will head by the CR...always a nice little treat to see. Bus service was great during our stay, we liked Contempo, and lots of other great dining options...especially if Cali Grill is open.

Our only complaint was no monorail service during EMH. It's a huge convenience factor being on the loop and being able to use it to get to Epcot, so it's kind of a downer when you have to take the bus back from Epcot if you go to evening EMH.

All in all...we'd highly recommend this choice :D

North Wing was honeymoon, no kids yet. Kids were 7, 4, 1.5 on first South Wing Garden View trip. 13,10, 7.5 on second South Wing Garden View trip.

We love the Contemporary! Well, we have only stayed at BLT (3 going on 4 times) but always take advantage of everything in the Contemporary. Fabulous dining options, love the gift shop and my kiddos and DH claim the best arcade. It is the most convenient location, in our opinion, especially with children in the MK prime age. Ours are now 7, 5 and 2 and we have the hardest time tearing ourselves away and trying a different resort; you just cannot beat the walk-way to MK. We walk it more than waiting for and hopping on the Monorail, much faster and it's only about a half mile.
Actually, funny story last trip; it started pouring rain while we were in Tomorrowland, my 2 year old starts a meltdown, my MIL says she is going to take my DD and niece back on the monorail (we were ready to head out anyway) but I could not see waiting with the crowd for the monorail with my screaming 2 year old. I threw the rain cover over the jogging stroller and jog/ran back. I beat my crew my at least 15 minutes!!
But I digress...you will not regret your choice! If you want a fabulous meal, Cali Grill should be re-opened if it's on schedule, The Wave is great, Chef Mickey's a classic, and the QS is pretty good too! Enjoy and happy planning! :D

Oh, I never miss a trip without a visit to the California grill!!! I always get a Sushi dish! I never knew about the walkway to the MK. is there a tomorrowland entrance, or do you have to go through the main gate?
