Boy, did you take THAT the wrong way! :lol: I could tell you to pull YOUR head out...but I won't.
Relax....deep breaths. I wasn't referring to you reporting the news, I was referring to those that already knew about the concept art and all of the *other* evidence, yet kept denying it because they don't know how to put 2 and 2 together, or better yet, read and comprehend the evidence to begin with.
So, again, not a shot at you. Sorry you took it that way.

I decided to go straight to the horses mouth so last week I emailed Customer
Services at Walt Disney World to ask about DVC at Disney's Contemporary Resort.
I just got off the phone with them and they assured me that what is going on is just a North wing upgrade similiar to the one they did on the South Garden wings.
I realize that this post is a waste of time because all of the DVC'ers are going to believe what they want to believe.
All I am saying is that this is what the Disney executives told me on the phone this morning when they called.
But I don't know...maybe they could all just be a bunch of liars.

Since when has anyone at Disney given away any information that hasn't been officially announced? Of course they're going to send you an email that says that. They send lies like that in emails all the time to dispell rumors....true or not. If you think otherwise, I'm not real sure where you've been. You've been ammember of these boards since 2001, yet you've failed to read the hundreds of threads from people who have contacted Disney about Rumors, and ALL of them have been lied to. It's common practice.
So, in conclusion, you may as well hae spoken to someone at your local supermarket.

Guest Service may not be lying. They probably just don't know what is going on. The people that answer emails and answer questions up front are usually the last to be informed of new things. Management probably hasn't told them yet about DVC at the Contemporary.

It's not leaked, file a simple FOIA and it's yours. Permits, environmental impact surveys and the like are public records -- most of the time they're just too boring for anyone to care!

Well, the cashier at my local supermarket didn't even know about AKL-DVC
But seriously, when my DVC guide called a month or two ago trying to get me to add on at SSR, I asked her about the contemporary rumor. Her response was that the members usually find out before they do (unofficially of course) since as realtors they have to disclose everything they know about what's available. As a result they are often the last to know until just before an official announcement.
I'm waiting on the monorail extension to DVC-Discovery Island with connecting service to VWL and Disney Studios.:animwink:

This link is to a permit granted to Disney for water management of the construction trailer site at the old landing strip. They refer to the project as DVC @ the Contemporary.

It has been reported that the parking lot in the fenced off area around the North Wing is being torn up.
I had posted that one plausible theory (rumor) I read is that the STOL (short take off landing strip) is going to used to bring in and store the heavy equipment and materials that will be needed for the new building at CR.

Sorry Minnie, Drei beat you to it on Nov. 2nd. This was the first place I had seen it. He/She did not state if they were the orginal source of the info or if they just relaying the info from somewhere else as you did....
