I ate here in May or April, and they had the touch screen ordering things similar to Be Our Guest, they have been replaced with regular register type machines. Were they in testing? Or did something happen?
I actually find it pretty easy and don't normally wait long if at all. And it's psychological too, before you had to go to the screens and then stand and wait for your food. Now you may wait a bit longer at the register than at the kiosk, however, you get to find a seat, get a drink and they bring your food out to you.Captain Cooks at the Poly also did away with the screens apparently. Ordering at the registers isn't efficient at all, as there are only typically 1-2 cashiers and it's hard to even see the menu. At peak times it was quite a nightmare. Minor sure the screens are even the answer, but a CM writing down orders prior to paying would help a lot (as is typically done at Mara at AKL).
I thought they had it when they openedContempo has had this for at least two years, if not three.
That's a big "unless." When you're talking about grocery stores, it's faster to dump your stuff on the conveyor belt while the employees scan and bag for you. Those are different kinetics than when you're ordering at a touch-screen empty-handed. Given the choice between a person and a kiosk, I'll pick whichever one has shorter lines. I think this way leads to shorter transaction times in a QSF&B situation because it separates ordering and paying. As soon as your order, the kitchen can start on your food.First, I think most guests prefer live CM's to kiosks. Look at any store with electronic kiosks, and you'll find most customers prefer live staff, unless they have a small number of items.

It's the way the fast food world is moving.
