It will be interesting to see the finished product as we were just in MK back in October and it was very crowded in that area. Obviously they hadn't started construction yet, looking forward to someone posting pictures.

The overall goal of this project is to create an outer ring to the hub used specifically for crowd control and traffic patterns that will be much easier on guests than one way confusing pathways that eat up some valuable fireworks viewing areas. It is starting by Casey's corner and Crystal Palace where an expanded main pathway will allow traffic to easily flow from the sidewalks and gifts shops on Main Street toward Crystal Palace toward Adventureland and Liberty Square allowing more of the hub to fill in. It will also expand the seating area for Casey's and stroller parking for Crystal Palace. There is also a wall up on the path to Adventureland from the hub to also create more viewing areas. Eventually I hear that the Rose Garden may look completely different, new pathways from the Adventureland path to the Liberty Square path (or widened bridges), and possibly an additional bridge from the Tomorrowland bridge to the Plaza restaurant to the new bypass. I wish I could see the plans though. This was only what was described to me.

Don't worry, this is the most accurate description of the plans I've seen to date.

As for my dream of trees or hedges blocking views from these new pathways, it sounds like the horticulture plans have been scaled back a bit. I'm not too happy about this, because that will just mean we will have more of the same, people stopping in pathways to watch the fireworks. *sigh*

That doesn't sound so bad (not as bad as I thought). Sure there might be more walkways over the moat and more concrete, but it eases traffic congestion and also, if all goes through as planned to block the fireworks, would add a little bit more foliage to MSUSA. A plus in my opinion.
