Connections NY Times

Do we think that this is like the NYT crossword, which gets progressively more difficult from Monday to Friday? Because today's Connections just about did me in.

I recognized 3 of the blue ones and took a lucky guess on the 4th, when really I should've seen the green connection long before last.
Its like, when you see 4 things that "could be" a group, you know they're likely to be all in separate groups.

I think it's random. I've gone multiple weeks with getting them easily, then multiple days without having a clue.
