I like the terrazzo...Not only is it a fun design medium, but it is infinitely easier to clean and polish and is virtually indestructible for guest wear.Seems that, if you turn artisans loose, you'll see some good work. I fully expect the terrazzo floor to look great. Will always be better than the synthetic wood ceramic tiles that's used just about everywhere now. But, don't fool yourself; just as we did back when I was a kid, we covered up said terrazo to lay parquet on top of it. Tomorrow's "Zach" will see this as "kitsch" and perform their "magic" on top of it. It's the circle of life!
We bought a house 5 years ago and stripped up all the parquet floors to reveal the beautiful white terrazzo underneath. but we love the mid-mod aesthetic....
