Confirmation Letter Question

Today we got our confirmation letter in the mail and it lists everythign we are getting...blah blah..but it says some extra things: Photo Movie DVD, Minature Golf, Planet Hollyword Meal Voucher, Sea Raycer offer-what are these?

Did you get vouchers too? Not sure if they still send those...these are the extra goodies for your package. The meal voucher should be self explanatory...take that to the restaurant and get whatever is free or the percentage off of your order. The others should have explanations along the same lines. If you can't figure them out the CMs at the front desk will help.

It used to be that all packages came with some free goodies like pins, picture frames, etc.

We didn't get our paperwork in the mail* yet, but when we initially booked a year ago, all of the same 'extras' were noted, except the photo DVD. We leave in a few weeks, so I hope to get everything soon.

*Actually our travel agent gets everything in the mail and then I stop in to get the stuff and she gives us nice gifts for booking with her. That's always a happy day all 'round.

There are no descrpitions or vouchers at all and no one told me over the phone what any of this was before hand. I guess I have to call them... I hate calling them..

I believe the Sea Raycers are the little speed boats that you can rent at the resorts on Bay Lake and at some of the other resorts as well.

I believe you are correct. I think I used to call them "mouse boats", don't know if that is what they were called or if that is what my family calls them. They are so much fun, if you are a water person renting one is a fun way to spend an hour or so.

These are the little "extras" that Disney often throws into reservations to make them "Packages", thereby giving you the payment and cancellation requirements of every package (full payment 45 days before the trip, etc). As opposed to a Room-Only reservation which is much less restrictive. (5-day cancellation policy, only one-night's deposit, full payment due at check-in, etc)

There was no mention of this on our Virgin Holidays package confirmation last year, but when we arrived we were presented with these vouchers (I forget if the Virgin rep at the airport gave us them, or if it was at check-in at the hotel) - nice surprise!

A couple of things were listed in the brochure, as All Stars used to be a Virgin Flagship hotel, we got some extras like 2 free refillable mugs, 2 cinema tickets etc. I have a feeling it was these vouchers we received at the airport. (So this was a Virgin Holidays promotion)

The vouchers for the pins / PH / free golf etc. listed above, I think we received at the hotel, yes it's becoming clearer now! :lol: So even though we booked through Virgin, it must have been classed as a Magic You Way package for us to get the freebies I think? Hope it happens again this year

Looking at old Birnbaum guidebooks (we have everyone from 1993 to 2007), the boats were called "water mice" and also "water sprites". So your family calling them "mouse boats" was right.
