Concierge?

On a whim, we just decided to upgrade to a category V stateroom on our 3-night on the Dream next February. I've toured some of the concierge area on the Fantasy, and we've stayed club level a few times in WDW. Anything important or exciting we should know before our cruise? I want to make sure we don't miss anything good :)

Well the Concierge lounge is fantastic, we were on the Fantasy for 14 nights and the CL was worth the upgrade by itself, the best free coffee on the ship is there, self serve with also hot chocolate and tea, the Hosts are normally there to help and there is light food from 7am to 10pm all day, and changed from breakfast to evening cheese. Use shoreside concierge to help you book things, you can ask from just before 120 days and they can secure the less available items, there is a private deck above the CL and there is normally a private meet. We had a room 12012 just next to a door of the CL so would nip in for coffee etc, you do not need a port arrival time you can arrive at any time and if you are at port before the ship commences embarkation you will go on first after the family of the day, concierge has a separate check in and waiting area. Do go to the concierge lounge on embarkation they can sort out your cruise for you, and also your room maybe available earlier than the rest of the ship, circa 1pm.

We've sailed concierge on the Magic twice & Dream once. Your booking window for Palo, Remy, etc. will open up at midnight 120 days prior to sailing. If there's anything you want to book, especially cabanas on Castaway Cay, make sure shoreside concierge knows before your booking window opens. Shoreside didn't used to have the ability to snag them at 12:01 am when they open to booking so many concierge guests still didn't get a cabana unless they got up and got them themselves. However, shoreside seems to be grabbing them as needed now which is fantastic. Definitely a perk to concierge level!

The welcome reception and different service times are wonderful. Enjoy those. Let the concierge know at the reception if you're interested in mixology or tastings. They'll take care of everything for you. It's so nice.

Any questions you might have do not hesitate to ask shoreside. They will do soooooo much for you!

Thanks! My hubby must have been running some searches because he sent me a link to a thread where both of you had also commented on your concierge experience. I'm glad we have a few months to think about what we might want to book.

I like the first boarding! We will be taking DCL transfers from the airport, and don't those get you to the port fairly early? Since we're flying from a cold weather location in winter, we'll probably fly in the night before so we'd be ready to go first thing on embarkation day. I'm getting more and more excited, too bad we still have almost 9 months to wait!

LOL! I personally get my drawers in a twist when they don't come to tuck the covers under my chin, read me a bedtime story, then sing Disney tunes as they slowly turn out all the lights for me. You'd think they'd want to work for those concierge tips. Sheesh!!!!

J/K! Loved our concierge experiences. Not a necessity, tho. Nooooo problem-o!
