Concierge- Trip Planners??

I was just wondering if anyone had any info on the trip planners that come with concierge level? Do the trip planners do more than make ADRs (I've already done that)?? I'm thinking of doing concierge at AKL and just wondering what it really means besides the snacks/drinks. Thank you!

We were blessed enough to be upgraded to a concierge level at the contemporary after it's refurb 3 yrs ago I think it was. Neways if you can't get the ADR's you want, like we wanted so badly to go to California Grill but could never get in, you can just mention it to your concierge and he or she just MIGHT be able to pull a few strings and get you in! Plus it makes the level that your room is on a secure one, where you can only get up to it by using your room key ( at least at the contemporary). They also would be butlers of sorts, like this little boy that was there when we were there was a big fan of some pooh character, and he saw this shirt in the MK but the parent's didn't buy it for him and I guess maybe they were too lazy to go back to MK and get it for him so they sent their concierge to get it and it was just charged to their room account! There are advantages to it, we enjoyed it! But they may have been that we spent all our hard earned money all year by paying off credit card bills, and hence earning points that paid for our hotel stay accept for $1! But yes, I thought it was worth it!

im not going to lie, i love getting spoiled at concerige level
but yeah, they can make reservations , give you special treatment, and a whole lot more

The concierge staff is wonderful at all of the Deluxe resorts. My favorite is the AKL. They do book any tours that you would like or if you have a special occasion like a birthday they actually did this for my daughter. They put balloons, a cake, plates, plastic wear and party hats with a card and a small trinket for her in our room.

We've stayed at the Poly twice w/ concer. level,and once w/out and this time we are doing without again. Don't get me wrong, the service was wonderful, but when it came down to dollars and the way I like to plan every detail of my own vacation, there really wasn't much left for them to do - we never really approached them to do anything because we had planned! LOL
The private check in was nice, but I've never run into a line at regular check-in either.
We really enjoyed having our purchases magically appear in our room instead of having to get them from the front desk...
We did use the snacks at first, but found that with the meal plan plus all the snacks that we were just eating becuase the food was there and we were stuffed silly. So, we really didn't need the snacks either...(but the breakfast was nice, and included)
We celebrated an anniversery while we were there and we had something little left each day, like a small cake, single rose etc.
The conc. lounge at the Poly was great for fireworks (and free cordials), but again, for the extra money, we ended up watching them from the beach...
The special touches were nice, but in the end, I personally didn't think it made much of a difference on the overall vacation experience...but if I had money I just simply HAD to spend, I would consider putting it there! (Think I'm sitting on the proverbial fence?):wave: I'm sure this was about the least helpful post I could have come up with....:hammer:
