Concierge rooms AKL

[font=Trebuchet MS, Verdana, Arial, Helvetica] We are staying at the AKL from 11-5/11-13...We would like to get a Concierge room. But don't want to get stuck with a NON Arusha Savanna view as the Fiancée would KILL me if we ended up with a view of the pool.

I know you cannot book a certain "view" (kinda lame we pay more money but can lock in a certain view) Can anyone with past experance let us know if its safe to do it can semi assured we would get stuck looking out at the pool? As we would really like the
Concierge features.

Hey Flagen,

You know, I was EXTREMELEY paranoid about this as well, but our 'Safari Guide' helped to calm me down. He said they don't use the pool view rooms unless they absolutely have to, and that being said, there are only 7 of them (I beleive that was the number). I'm not 100% sure, but I beleive he said the pool view rooms are smoking rooms as well, so hopefully you're requesting no-smoking. I was there last year around the time you are going and we had no issues what-so-ever.

I would feel very assured you are going to get what you want. They know you are paying top dollar, and are going to accomodate you accordingly.

That said, you are going to love the AKL - we enjoyed popping into the lounge throughout the day for smoothies and snacks.

I don't think he's being literal there scooter. Plus, one of the huge perks of the AKL is the savannah view, so I completely understand where he's coming from. Not that the pool view doesn't have it's share of wildlife, but I see those animals all day long here at the office, it's nice to get away from them for a while

When we went, we booked concierge, but also wanted savannah view, as well, and what ended up happening is that we got a room that wasn't a "concierge room" per se, but it was savannah view, and they instead gave us a key to get up to the concierge level of the resort. Does that make sense? :lol: (If not, I'll get my mother in law on here to explain better LOL )

I was worried at the time too. We did the room request fax thing and got exactly what we wanted - nonsmoking savanah view. All I really wanted was to do the sunrise safari, and that is why we 'had to' stay concierge level. The view turned out to be amazing, and gives new meaning to room service - one of the most memorable cheeseburgers I've ever eaten was on the balcony overlooking the savannah.

Just make sure you call 407 wdisney and put in your request in advance of arrival, and make sure you ask the castmember to put in the order of your desired specific request...for example, savanah view, nonsmoking, 5th or 6th floor (you decide), etc.

We've don this for several years now. The info is that there are some 50+ Concierge rooms availaible. They are on both the 5th and 6th floors. The only ones not having a savanna view are the 6 smokking pool rooms. All the rest are one of the three savanna views, and most of them are Arusha.

Like everyone said, just ask for a non-smoking room. Insist on it several times to make sure. Also "request" the savanna view. They will put that in your reservations, just make you you request it.

Also, when you first start speaking to the itiniary services staff, verify they have the non-smoking, and the savanna view request in the reservation.

They will do everything they can to make sure you get what you want.

We have always got our room on every trip.

Also, the 5th floor is best. The 6th floor roof can block the view I'm told, and the itiniary services staff tol us to take the 5th floor room. You can request that too.
