concerned about crowds

OK I need help. I have reservations for Dec 13th-19th but I am concerned about the crowds. We will have a small child with us in a stroller. I have heard some people say that it is so crowded at the holidays that you cannot even get down Main St. Should I just keep these dates or go in Oct. or Nov? Do you think I will be there before it really gets bad or is it becoming overly crowded all of December now? I would like to see the holiday decorations but should I wait until my child is older to fight the crowds? Have I made a mistake or should I be ok? Help! Thank you:veryconfu

 We were there in Dec. and left on the 15th and it was beginning to get pretty crazy then. we were glad to be going, sort of!! Oct. is a nice time to go. Its up to you, though. If you want to see the xmas decorations you could still go in Nov. they are up earlier every yr. have a magical trip.

I was there Dec. 8-10 and Dec. 16-19, 2006 and it was more crowded than I have ever seen it. I was difficult manuvering through the parks at all parks and I never had that problem before.

You will have no problems. I go every year from the 15th - 20th or so...and there are never huge crowds anywhere. THose start to arrive after the 23rd, once schools are out for the holidays.

Frankly, WDW at Holiday time is NOT for people who are "concerned about crowds"! REALLY!

I have been on Christmas, Easter, and 4th of July and it's INSANE! That's part of the fun if you go to WDW lots and are not there to ride the rides, but more to take in the whole Holiday atmosphere and excitement! YES - Main Street does become impossible to navigate at times!

The earlier you go before Christmas the better. You might want to change your week to the first week in December or last week in November. You can still enjoy the Christmas decorations, but with smaller crowds than those closer to the 25th. I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy your trip better if you move it up a week or two!

P.S. Be sure to take your little one to Mickey's Christmas Party during your stay, if that's possible!

GOOD LUCK!

Here's the deal... all periods at WDW have shown dramatic crowd increases over the last two years.

September 2004? Dead compared to Sept 2005 and Sept 2006.

That being said, the middle of December as you have planned should be fine.

October definitely has some busy weeks with F&W festival and November has Jersey Week and Thanksgiving week to contend with as well.

I do second the recommendation of MVMCP though, as my family went in 2004 and 2006 and really enjoyed it both times!
