Hi guys! I have to admit I'm a lurker on here and never been brave enough to post! But last year my husband and I made a concept of how Ratatouille could work as a musical, possibly for one of the parks. Didn't know if you'd be interested in taking a look, hope you like it! We're working on doing something similar for Brave this year. If you had ideas of other things that would work let me know. Or if you were making Ratatouille in the parks, how would you pull off the staging?

Here is the YouTube video:

Welcome! Congrats on your first post!

Like this? I love it! You both did a fantastic job with it...and now I'm really interested in seeing this type of show at Hollywood Studios in a Pixar Place expansion. Something different so that Disney wouldn't just clone the trackless ride from Paris.

Seriously though, if I didn't know better I would have though this was a rough cut of an actual Disney musical. It was that good!

I hope you post more around here because this is such a great start!:) Looking forward to Brave.

Thanks so much that's really lovely of you to say. We work mainly in writing cabaret for Broadway performers but our hearts lie in writing music for animation. It took about three months to create and has over 40 performers on it including the musicians.

I think in theory the main difficulty with getting it on would be getting around the scaling issues between the rats and humans. Will post the Brave one when it's finished, at the moment it's just one song due to how much they cost to make, but it is going to be an epic song with some big orchestrations!

Man, Disney should really think about hiring you guys for a movie, or disney musical/show
Thanks. We had a great response from some amazing people on this. Unfortunately being based in the UK is a bit of a challenge but we have a US based agent now which will hopefully help. We mainly made it for Disney fans such as us though. We love the Finding Nemo musical at AK and hope new concepts is something Disney will look at more in the future.

Good lord that was amazing! The quality you and your team created really does sit above the Disney standard of music and overall storytelling. What effort! You should consider creating a concept album (check out Tuomas Holopainen's concept album based off of Scrooge McDuck in The Life and Times of Scrooge or Richard Campbell's Frankenstein) all of which tells a unique story. You may not realize it but you practically made one with Ratatouille. Give it some thought! Either way, what beautifully crafted art you made. Welcome aboard.

I just checked out Tuomas Holopainen's concept album - what an amazing idea! We would love to do something like this it's just they are so expensive. We would love to do a song and work with an animator and tried to set something up with CalArts but it didn't work out sadly. Well in the meantime, if you can think of anyone who may enjoy this please go ahead and share, you never know who may come across it in the end. I'll post as soon as we have some more. I can say that one of Broadway's Elphaba's will be singing the Brave number (not Idina but just as amazing).

Wow, that's some awesome production values! Y'all clearly have a flair for melody. Nice work!

I'm a musical theater writer myself (well, only one fringe production... but you gotta start somewhere, right?), and I'm part of a musical theater critique group in Boston, so I've got more detailed thoughts on your presentation (I really can't turn critique-mode off :p). If you're interested, feel free to message me.

Excited to see where your work goes :D
