Great stuff! A "Pirate's Lair" at WDW would be great...maybe behind PotC attraction...is it good enough of an excuse/reason to bulldoze and/or modify the current tree house. :lookaroun
Are the characters are part of a show, or they just roam around and interact with guests and amongst themselves to add to the environment (like the characters on Mainstreet)?

that looks awesome, but on the second post, how would your hand turn into a skeleton hand on the "cursed treasure" picture. my brother says maybe your hand goes into a glove, but knowing Disney, that seems a little too simple.

They'll probably project some type of light on your hand, or maybe your hand will actually be seperated by a special screen, which will make it appear as if it turned into a skeleton.
What's up with those new maps? Will they be handing them out to keep? :shrug: That would be cool.

i was quite skeptical at first... but it looks like there will be loads of fun activities. hope it comes out like it is portrayed

From what I understand, they added Pirate theme to the entire island. The caves are still there, but instead of it just being dark and disorienting, it has brand new special effects and there are other activities around the island.
I think Pirate's Lair will open this Memorial Day weekend, if I'm not mistaken. Hope that helps. :wave:

Yeah, basically a pirate invasion...there will be no more Tom Sawyer left on that island.From what I understand, they added Pirate theme to the entire island. Hmmmm...Perhaps I'm missing something here, but everyone is saying it looks "amazing" and I'm afraid I just don't see much of anything all that impressive about the changes. The only things that look kind of cool are the skeleton hand special effect (though it's difficult to judge just how "cool" it will be based solely on an artist's sketch), and the map. The map is cool because it appears to be an homage to the old Tom Sawyer's Island maps they used to give out, and which are now collector's items often found on eBay.

I think and hope it's going to be a DL only thing because TSI at DL is right in front of PotC, it's not that way in MK.
