Trip Report **COMPLETED** The Tale of Two Trips (finally moving on from the PTR)

Hello everyone!!! I'm sorry for the long delay, but I am finally starting my TR :) I apologize in advance for the insane amount of pictures :) I got a new camera and took over 3000 pictures and videos! If you did not read my PTR I went on two trips in the span of a few weeks...hence the title :) I will split them in two but keep it all in the same thread. Also, I have a lot of last minute residency requirements to navigate through the next few weeks or so so I'm sorry if this takes me forever! Anyway, enough of me rambling - let's begin!

First trip!
Who?

From left to right: Me (Megan), my Mom (Mary), and my sister (Jill)

When?
March 11, 2017 - March 18, 2017

Where?
First time staying an entire trip here...the Polynesian!

Why?
I had to take an exam in Kissimmee on the 14th and I got the whole week off from work to go :) My Mom and sister came along for the ride.

Day 7 continued
When we got back to the room we found our animals arranged like such :joyfull: It was so cute!
DSC_1779_1.jpg

While in the room I booked a bounce back for our next trip and ended up getting a great deal on the Polynesian :jawdrop: Woohoo! Can not believe we get to come back! Anyway, it was still only semi warm out so we headed to the pool and sat in the sun, but did not go in :) My Mom and I were dying to go down the slide since we love slides, but since we booked a bounce back we knew we could save it until next time!
We did not have a long rest because we had an early dining reservation so we got dressed and headed back to the MK!
DSC_1788_1.jpg

This Photopass CM asked me if my name was Belle and if I was going to the ball :joyfull:. I told him we were indeed going to Be Our Guest!
IMG_2998.JPG

We actually walked into the MK just as the Festival of Fantasy parade was heading down Main Street

Mickey is so darn cute :)
After this we headed towards Be Our Guest and waited outside for my friends. Our reservation was for 4:05 pm and both of the friends I was meeting up with are late people so I told them an earlier time and then told them I would check in with or without them :) :hilarious:

Day 7 continued
Luckily my threatening paid off and everyone showed up on time. :) We had a short wait once we checked in

Jake on the left (you saw him at V and A) and Sara on the right :)

DSC_1843_1.jpg

We had a group of 8 so this is why our reservation was so early (well actually I made the reservation for like 12 in the beginning but then a lot of things changed and we lost a few along the way). I think our party of 8 was also why we ended up being seated in the Rose Gallery which is truthfully my least favorite of the rooms.

Jill and I both started off with wine. I had Resiling and she had some wine thats special to BOG but I have no idea what it is...sorry

Bread to start

My Mom and I (and a few others) started with French Onion soup....yummmmm

Sorry :p That mac and cheese was so good! We were just missing some hot sauce ! I was going to get the Pot Roast kind but for some reason at that point in time meat did not appeal to me :joyfull:

Thanks!!!
I would be looking for hot sauce too. All the times I have been to MK I never visited The Friars Nook. We stopped by this past February but either they were closed or something made us leave without ordering. It is on my list for October.

Day 7 continued
We weren't starving because of how early our dinner was so my Mom and I decided to split something. I usually get the steak here, but my Mom usually gets the chicken so we went with that!
Pan Seared Chicken Breast
DSC_1852_1.jpg

This was pretty meh, not going to lie. The chicken was pretty dry...but the rice under it was decent. Overall not my favorite food I've had. My Mom felt the same way.
Jill had the Braised Beef
DSC_1853_1.jpg

That was actually very good. I wish I ordered that!
Jake ordered the Sautéed Shrimp and Scallops...he insisted I take a picture :p
DSC_1854_1.jpg

Elizabeth had the Ratatouille which I think was the only thing she could eat with her allergies
DSC_1855_1.jpg

I didn't take any pictures of Sara's food because I didn't want to freak her and her husband out :joyfull:
So, since it was the day Beauty and the Beast came out they had quite a few speciality desserts! My Mom and Jill both ordered the Lemon cupcake
DSC_1856_1.jpg

Jake got the grey stuff and again insisted I take a picture
DSC_1859_1.jpg

I got the grandaddy of speciality desserts :)
DSC_1862_1.jpg

This was vanilla mouse with grey stuff inside. So yummy!!!!
Overall I would say our dinner was fine, but not great. Both my Mom and I agreed that we are kind of over dinner at BOG for awhile....:jawdrop: I know, I know I can't even believe I'm typing those words.
After eating we walked around and explored a bit

I would definitely scout out some hot sauce before going there and bring it with you :) I think it would make it even that much better !

Sara's son Greyson was at first very afraid of the Beast, but in the end he really liked him!

MK was packed and we did have a FP but not for a bit so what do you do when its crowded?
Peoplemover!
No one was into taking normal pictures apparently :)

What else do you do when its too crowded?
C of P!
DSC_1893_1.jpg

There was a family in there with a baby who would not stop crying so they actually left the ride and it re-set the whole thing...
Anyway, hello Mickey nutcracker!
DSC_1897_1.jpg

After C of P it was finally time for our FP!
The Speedway! Jill had never bene on it before so I let her ride with my Mom :)

We all had a good laugh on the The Speedway and enjoyed our ride :)

I like the idea of the 6 must try drink list. I went back thru your report but could only find 5, nautilus, casa noble reposado, candy apple cotton-tini, 7 sea lagoon, and the smokin' red sangria. What is the one I missed? This will be on the list for October too.

Day 7 continued
I had waited all trip for some popcorn and even though I wasn't that hungry, I needed to get some this day :)
DSC_1910_1.jpg

Originally our plan was to stay in the park to see Wishes but we still had about 2 hours before it and there wasn't much to do. I sadly agreed to watch Wishes from the hotel so long as Jill actually came out and watched it for once :) It was a deal !
This is what our monorail ride home looked like...it was packed!
DSC_1913_1.jpg

Back at the room we packed a little and I wrote down cupcake so I'm assuming someone had one :)
DSC_1917_1.jpg

DSC_1918_1.jpg

I did not take any pictures of Wishes this night because I really wanted to just watch and enjoy with my Mom and Jill. After Wishes it was off to bed.

Next up: Last day :(

Thank you, can't believe I missed it. I also have reservations at California Grill for October. Your sentiments about it made me realize the same. It is a must do when ever possible. My wife and I had went twice during past trips and had a wonderful time. Now its a new time to start a new tradition. I am taking my daughter so she can experience the magic that her mom and I were able to share together. Keep up the great work. Outstanding trip reports!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you get to start a new tradition. I recently listened to a podcast that said they didn't understand the hype of California Grill o_O I mean view is great, food is great, service is great....what am I missing? :hilarious:
