Trip Report **COMPLETED** The Hotter Than Hades Birthday Trip

Hey guys...sorry I am super delayed in writing this and I am certain it will take me forever to write this one too! But....I do want to share it so here we go!

Who?
Back to the usual ....my Mom (Mary) and myself (Megan)

When?
July 9 - 17, 2021

Where?
We stayed at the Yacht Club again

Why?
My 33rd Birthday - and it was hot out..... Also - I barely took my camera out so most of these photos are my from my phone. Sorry in advance

Day 1 July 9 2021
We got up at 3 am (), got ready and headed to the airport. My Mom stayed at my house so we could just drive together and not wake my Dad up
We got to the airport around 3:45 am and we were stuck in the Southwest line for forever because everyone forgot how to pack a suitcase, check in, take out a passport, etc etc.
Anyway - we eventually made it through security and to our gate.
Time for our usual date sign!

We were in row 2 on the plane!

We actually had a layover in Chicago which was super annoying. It was essentially the same distance from Chicago to Orlando as it is from Buffalo to Orlando so it was an extra 1.5 hour flight for the same distance essentially
Obviously it could not be helped as Southwest added this layover after I booked and there were no other options but we still complained
There was barely anything open at Midway to eat so we got some donuts. I only took a photo of one of them apparently. Off to a great start

It was stale so would not recommend
Anyway eventually we got on our second plane

Day 7 continued

The snack of the day was animal crackers

After our break we headed to the Pixar Short Film Festival...because....air conditioning.

All caught up, we have been on a UK staycation, Chris moaned at me for taking a light picture for someone I don't know IRL so it's not great but I thought you would appreciate it, the bar was boat themed and the lights were on ropes from ladders on the celling and the wall ones as if they were on old fashioned shipping yard pullies.

Your birthday meals look amazing as you both did in your lovely outfits and that cake - yummy!

Day 7 continued

After this we got hungry so we considered getting some festival food but we were so hot we did not feel like we could stand around at the booths and eat. So....we mobile ordered some lunch at the Beach Club!

For some reason we waited forever for our food....we did some shopping/browsing while waiting

If I were into making cookies I would have bought these
Anyway turns out our food was ready for awhile and they just forgot to say so on the app
We both ordered Mac and cheese *with goldfish (also something we would eat later this day )

It was honestly so good!!!
Also my Mom got this cupcake!

After this we headed to the quiet pool. Commence pool photoshoot

Day 7 continued
We love the main pool but sometimes the quiet pool is nice because it is so relaxing. This day was especially nice since practically no one was there! After our pool time we took a break in the room before walking back to Epcot.

Living with the Land was up next

We had dinner at the Garden Grill so we checked in and we were seated pretty quickly.

The main platter of steak with chimichurri, green beans, turkey, more veggies, potatoes, stuffing

More Mac and cheese with goldfish

And there was a chef special of ribs. OMG THESE RIBS WERE INCREDIBLE ! I mean everything else was great too but wow those were fantastic.

And berry short cake

Yum we had a great meal and a great time!

Day 7 continued
After our dinner we figured we should try at least one festival item so we headed to the Appleseed Orchard

I got the Apple Blossom sky

My Mom was hesitant about trying it...

But she actually really liked it

After this it was off to bed!

Day 8 July 17, 2021
We woke up around 6:30, got ready and grabbed a boarding group for Rise. I am honestly not sure what I will do without the adrenaline rush of getting a BG now ....
We got 22
We had some cake again for breakfast and walked to DHS.
It was super crowded this morning

We were let in the park at 7:45 but held in a rope drop until 8:30.
Of course we headed right to SDD

Ride number 3 for the trip! We waited about 10 minutes

We headed over to Tower of Terror next

It was listed as a 50 minute wait but we only waited 20 !

After this it was time for ....a bunch of photos

We hopped in line for Runaway Railway next.
Our BG was called shortly after we got in line. For some reason we always feel like we need to get on Rise right as the BG is called but I have no idea why....so we were a little stressed this whole wait.

We waited about 50 minutes which was the posted time.

More Runaway Railway
An interesting type of light for you...

After our ride we scurried over to Rise
It was a walk on!

After our ride we headed over to Backlot Express as per usual.
We waited over 20 minutes for our food to be ready. This is the worst part of mobile ordering for sure.
We both ordered chicken tenders, fries and plastic cheese Yum.

Ok I am trying to finish this before my next trip this week so I can only be one TR behind
Day 8 continued
After lunch we ....watched the Mickey short again. I don't know why but I love this so much. Some of it gets old but my favorite part is the itchy sweaters. "What can I get you couple sweaters?"

After this we headed out and back to the Yacht Club for a break.
I wrote down that we had popcorn and a cupcake for a snack but I don't have any photos...
We spent some time at the pool but it was incredibly hot this day so we spent a lot of time in the room and packed for leaving the next day.
We headed back to DHS via the skyliner

Considering how crowded it felt this day the parking lot looked super empty

The wait times were still pretty long so we headed to Star Tours which was essentially a walk on

Day 8 continued
We headed into Galaxy's Edge

We had reservations at Oga's Cantina so we checked in and we were seated pretty quickly (er I mean stood at the bar )

I know the goal is always to rush you in and out of here but the bartender was honestly just straight up rude

We ordered the Fuzzy Tauntaun

And the Bespin Fizz

We did not get a second round of drinks since we were afraid of the bartender (jk, jk we did not want any more drinks )

After this we....watched the short again
In my defense we really just needed air conditioning

Then we headed over towards Mama Melrose's for dinner

Day 8 continued

I look as hot and gross as I felt

A light for you...

It was at this dinner where we were really regretful that we had another long trip planned in the summer. It was so hot and way more crowded than we had anticipated. We actually ended up adjusting our dates before remembering that we had Boo Bash tickets so had to adjust them back. In the end it was a moot conservation as we canceled our August trip anyway due to the COVID numbers down there. Max is only 6 and obviously not vaccinated yet so we did not feel comfortable bringing him down.
Anyway back to dinner.
Bread and oil to start

Also ....whoops I never took food photos. We were way too hot I think
I had the steak with the Mac and cheese (of course) and my Mom had the spaghetti with meatballs.
After this we headed out of the park.
Goodbye DHS

We walked back to the Yacht Club

Apparently we had some ice cream before we went to bed

Day 9 July 17, 2021
We got up around 7, finished up some packing, and headed down to breakfast at Ale and Compass (again...).
I saw this on IG while we were waiting to be seated

We actually got this reservation super last minute so it can be done

We got the same old same old but at least time my Mom got a big syrup...

After this we took a stroll around the Boardwalk

Then we relaxed on our balcony a bit...

Then waited for the Tragical Express.....

We were giving the thumbs up because we were coming back in 3 weeks which as I already said we did not

And that is it!
