Complete WDWn00b seeks help for first trip

Everyone on here seems so friendly so I thought maybe some one could help me out :). I have never been to WDW and I am going on May 29th from the UK, I just wondered as there is so much stuff to do/see, what are your favourite places/restaurants/shows/meet and greet places. Any kin of insight into what I am letting myself in for this May would help me out greatly.

Hmm.. dont miss the following must do's :

DINNERS :
1. Ohana's Dinner (totally amazing hawaiin feast which overlooks the magic kingdom across the lagoon.. best tasting food ive had at wdw!)
2. Liberty Tree Tavern Dinner (awesome character dinner right in the middle of the magic kindom! Book now!)

FIREWORKS:
1. Wishes
2. Illuminatins

PARKS:
1. Magic Kingdom
2. Ecot
3. MGM
4. AK

RIDES:
1. Splash Mountain (mk)
2. Space Mountain (mk)
3. Mickeys Philharmagic (mk)
4. Spaceship Earth (epcot)
5. Test Track (epcot)
6. Soarin (epcot)
7. Tower Of Terror (mgm)
8. Rock N Rollercoaster (mgm)

And don't forget to check out the Appliance Direct Ads on the TV. :)

Seriously have look for "The Brits Guide" by Simon Veness it is a great book with a British take on things.

I have that book but I just wanted to know what other people like doing at the parks. It is a good read though.

Don't miss out on the "kiddie" rides (Peter Pan, Small World, etc)... the big rides are fun but the charm is in the basics.

Don't over-plan, either. Once you have your list of musts, get them out of the way early and leave time for exploring.

Have a fun trip! :wave: Have you been to Disneyland Paris? Or are you new to Disney parks altogether?

Went to DLP when I was younger but I can't remember anything apart from being too scared to ride POTC and my Dad went on Indiana Jones. Also remember Tea Cups, some maze thing, a big X-Wing and Pizza Planet (Yes I am still only young :p ).

Oi!! They have those in Orlando as well? I live about 120 miles north and they drive me insane.

Appliance Direct! The woman in that commercial is the bane of my existence.

They should definitely find a way to use the wakkie nu nu guy. I'd like to see a ride too.. or I'd like to see Disney use him and the hippie chick to host the top 7 attractions at Disney World. If they hosted it the same way as they do the Appliance Direct comercial, it would be hilarious.

Both books are available in the UK - personally I too say get the Unofficial Guide, it has better information about planning your time.
