we have been around Christrmas last 5 years but new promo making us think of early june right after school out. compare crowds of early june to week before Christmas. we have to go one of those times since we are both teachers. we have 3 children under 9 so new deal for june gets 2 free meals and tickets. worried also about heat during that time but mainly crowd levels.
any other info on june appreciated.
thanks

We went the week before Christmas in 2008 and then again the first week of June 2009, so I'll try to add some perspective.

Both trips were AWESOME! :D But very different. We found that the week before Christmas 2008 had light crowds - about a 10 to 30 minute wait was the max we saw that week in any park. (But, it sounded like the week before Christmas 2009 was packed. Guess it's just a toss up )

What we loved about December were the light crowds and the fabulous temperatures.

June 2009 had very large crowds. In no way were they Easter size crowds, but wait times averaged about 40 minutes to 2 hours in all parks. It was also HOT as hades. No joke. :) I know I've said this before, but - It was the first time we've ever used the "go to the parks at rope drop, go back to your room after lunch and take a nap and then go back to the parks after dinner" touring method. It was the only way to survive even though the highest temp. was only around 95. We decided we like WDW much better in the cooler temps. But it was still a great trip and if DH walked in and said we were going back to WDW the first week of June, I'd be jumping for joy!

We did Dec. (early December- 8-14th I think) of 2008 and early June in 2007. June was busy but bareable (espcially with fast passes, etc.) but I also agree, the heat can be a killer. Not that bad though in early June. I think if memory serves me (in research)...that July/August is actually much worse temperature and humidity wise. December (early mind you) was light crowds but there were times we were wearing fleeces (cause it was chilly at night). Easier to get reservations, etc. We are going again this June (last minute plans) I prefer December, but logistics aren't going to allow this December and we got pin code for dining. We are going 2nd week (wish we could go 1st week but my girls have dance recital). THe good news is I think that alot of schools don't get out til later in December or at least in the midwest and east there will be a lot of snow days schools have to make up for in June (that's what I'm hoping). I work in the schools and luckily we don't have any to make up ..... yet:lookaroun
