I will be setting sail on the Disney Magic this Saturday, and I would like to know if anybody ca tell me the difference between the Common Grounds and The Stack. I was in the Common Grounds and I thought it was cool. Am I going to be disappionted with The Stack?

Never heard of The Stack... Is it new? Where is it (on the ship, the island...)?

It's on the ship where the ESPN Skybox used to be. They put an adults only spot in the Common Grounds. And they added a spoerts pub in Beat Street.

I'm kind of mad to hear that...

Is it just Magic or Wonder as well?

Oh well... Guess it doesn't matter for me. Next time I'll be on one of them, I'll be old enough to go to the adult sections! :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

At the moment it is just the Magic, but the same changes are to take place on the Wonder I think by the end of the year.

That's really too bad. I mean, I can see changing the SkyBox into something for teens, as there isn't much, but I most certainly wouldn't have sacrificed Common Grounds for it too.

BTW, didn't Disney sell ESPN? Does this have an effect on the change?

Well the change is sort of bitter sweet for me. I will miss the Common Grounds, but I do look forward to seeing the new club. The one thing about the Common Grounds was its location, so many little kids and adults would just walk in. With the Stack it's hopefully going to be harder for them to just walk in. Also I've heard that they made it so only teens could use the elevators that go up to deck 11. Well I'll know in two one more day if The Stack is better or worse.

I haven't been on the Magic since the change so I unfortunately don't know if the changes were good or not. But I can definetely tell you that Disney did NOT sell ESPN and I don't ever forsee them selling it, its one of the most successful areas of the company and the best thing that came from the ABC deal.

Thanks for clearing it up, CTXRover...

I dunno why/where I thought I heard they were getting rid of ESPN, and that's one thing I thought too... It's one good thing they have, why get rid of the good stuff?!? Of course, under the current administration, you can never be too certain what's going on. Next thing you know there will be a Tower of Terror at every single resort.

That's the plan ;) Two already have them (well, DCA's soft opens later this month), Tokyo's is already announced for DisneySea and Paris Studios will get one eventually...once they fix their financial rut....the HTH symbol was even built into the architecture in one area at Walt Disney Studios Paris... as a foreshadow to its location.

Sorry for the thread drift :)

Yeah... that I knew... I was using some sarcasm there, but it's hard to put sarcasm into words...
