Well, we are nearly there. Orlando from the UK 9-23 August. We have our tickets, 14 days unlimited for everything so we have options. First timers with 2 adults and 2 kids (4 and 9) Staying in a villa on Windsor Palms. Have a hire car for the duration.
what do you think of this:

09-Aug Saturday Arrive (land Orlando at 2pm)
10-Aug Sunday Epcot IllumInations at 9pm
11-Aug Monday Hollywood Studios Fantasmic show
12-Aug Tuesday Blizzard Beach water park
13-Aug Wednesday Magic Kingdon
14-Aug Thursday Magic Kingdon Fireworks at magic kingdom
15-Aug Friday Kennedy Space
16-Aug Saturday Animal Kingdom
17-Aug Sunday Universal Studios
18-Aug Monday Bush Gardens
19-Aug Tuesday IOA
20-Aug Wednesday Wet n wild
21-Aug Thursday TBD
22-Aug Friday TBD

I still have to think about restaurants. It is my wifes 40th on the day we arrive 9 August and my 38 on 10 August so need to think of something to do restaurant wise...

Just have to check daily until there is an official announcement. Hopefully you have more luck than I did. I left two days open in my itinerary to juggle around a rocket launch. Didn't happen.

Just be aware of cancellation policy.

So you just buy normal day tickets and that covers you for the launch?

Also, would you have an answer to my question about eating in restaurants in different places to where you have been during the day?

So you just buy normal Kennedy tickets for the day of the launch?

Booked Sci Fi for Monday night.

What do people think about Fantasmic, which restaurant is better for it?

From my understanding, the launch viewing site is not available for all launches. If it is, a separate ticket is necessary for transport to the viewing area and that comes on a first come, first serve basis. There are viewing areas outside of the center, but the best is found within, of course.

I'm really unsure about resort parking policy in regards to non-resort guests, but a car rental definitely makes it easier to get around. I know places like BC and YC require an ADR to park within. I often park at Boardwalk when heading into Epcot and just tell security I'm going to ESPN Club. They just scan my MB and I'm off. Again, I don't know if that is a resort guest perk. Over the course of a vacation, you're looking at hours and hours of driving from one place to the next if you do plan on eating wherever. That's the cost of not micromanaging your day to the hour and location. Not necessarily a bad thing depending on how you operate.

As far as park hopping, your parking pass is good for the entire day at any park.

Skip the Fantasmic dinner package and just go to the second show. I strolled right in and got a bench up front. But if you do, Mama Melrose would be my choice, which has officially bumped Via Napoli out of my go to spot for Italian.

Cheesecake Factory is always a must for us but we also love Bubba Gumps. Try the Winnie the Pooh character dinner at MK Crystal Palace - firm favourite and ours kids are 12 and 14 and have insisted we go when we visit WDW in October
