Comic Book Movies are Dumbing Us Down?

Simon Pegg is the British Seth Rogan. And in my opinion, Pegg's movies are infinitely sharper than the Rogan fare.

Comic book movies aren't the illness. They are simply a symptom of the illness. Comic book movies have infantile moral complexity. Loki bad, Hulk good. Hulk smash! Haha, good fun.

As we emerge from a 15 year war and a decade of economic hardship, we will wade back into the deep end of the pool. And I believe that is what Pegg is feeling.

As in his humor comes off as forced?

You got a little of moral complexity in Nolan's Bat-films, and to a lesser extent in Snyder's works, like Watchmen and Man of Steel. The problem is that many directors, like Snyder, aren't very good at competently conveying moral complexity.

I agree. Nolan has come closest to making an adult Superhero movie.

My favorite Superhero movie last year was Imitation Game. Alan Turing was a real Superhero.
