I will be in Orlando July 10 thru 19. My daughter's dance school is attending a dance competion from the 15-19. I am staying at Pop Century. The dance dance competion will be held at the Orlando Convention Center. The school has rooms at the Comfort Inn at a rate of $55 per night. I thought about switching to that hotel during competition days. However I have never stayed at any of the hotels outside of disney. Does anyone know anything about this hotel? It might not be worth the savings.

I stayed there September last year. It's a generic chain hotel, clean, comfortable with in room fridge, coffe machine and microwave. Continental breakfast every day is free (Oats, cold cerial, tea, coffee, milk, orange juice, fruit, toast and mini bagels with cream cheese and jams). There are also free buses to the parks (though nowhere near the frequency of onsite).

For those of us without the cash to stay onsite I recommend it.

I stayed there a long time ago. I wasn't impressed, but decided to try it for the $32.00 per nite rate at the time. The front desk wasn't friendly, the rooms bland. However, if your daughter is staying there with her dance team, I'd want to stay near her too.

If anything, since you have stated you've never stayed off property; this will give you the greatest appreciation for the Disney magic you enjoy when staying on-site.

I've stayed there several times and will be staying there in a month also. I like the place. Yeah, I've ran into a couple of employees who were not the most friendly, but you run into those types of people anywhere. Its clean, secure and its very near downtown disney. There are lots of restaraunts and shops nearby too.

I was there a couple of years ago and stayed in one of the kids suites.
It was clean and quiet (at least it was when I went).
The pool was nice although it was a bit close to the highway.
Make sure and request a room an the Palm Parkway side (much quieter for sleeping).
Its very handy for Downtown Disney .
For the price it was worth while especially since we were hardly there (just sleeping, breakfast then gone for the day until late afternoon siesta and swin, then back out again before collapsing into a good nights sleep).
