With reports last spring that WDW is getting new monorails, what would be your picks for the fleet colors?

Here are my picks:
  • Red
  • Maroon (Replaces Coral)
  • Orange
  • Brown (Replaces Peach)
  • Gold
  • Yellow
  • Green
  • Blue
  • Navy (Replaces Teal)
  • Magenta (Replaces Lime)
  • Black
  • Silver
I'm not much of a fan of the choices of Peach and Teal that replaced Pink and Purple after their incident, so I think they should be replaced by Brown and Navy in the next generation of railcars. Also, Lime should be replaced by Magenta, and Coral should be replaced by Maroon. The trains with the deltas should be Maroon, Navy, and Magenta to distinguish them from Brown, Black, and Red, respectively.

What are your thoughts?

I had to look it up before I realized that there are actually different colors of monorail. Who knew? So, I guess you could say my answer is something bland like off-white.

why not use vinyl wraps with themes? There could be a Pixar one.. as Star Wars one.. a Marvel one.. they could also base some on attractions.. i.e. Pirates.. Haunted Mansion.. Space Mountain.. etc..

That way, they can mix it up every couple of years to keep them relevant..

I don't mean to be rude, so please take this as light-heartedly as I intend this.

Not sure I could be good with brown - I couldn't help but think "poo streak" as it flew on by

In all seriousness I prefer lighter and brighter colors. darker colors are harder to distinguish in all lighting.

Well, WDW does put the deltas in the stripes to distinguish various shades. In my color scheme, the colors with the deltas would be Maroon, Navy, and Magenta to distinguish from Brown, Black, and Red, respectively.

I don't expect them to bring back Purple, considering it was retired due to the fatal incident alongside Pink.

They could bring it back in a different hue maybe? Plum colored - Monorail Plum!

Ada complaint : colored monorail discriminate against color blind and totally blind people.

Color blindness is not covered by the ADA based on past court rulings. Many transit systems use colored rail lines not just on the trains themselves, but to identify entire lines. There have been no lawsuits against any transit system for that.

I just realized how close your color schemes were. I suppose I like bright and happy rainbows.

I love peach, coral as well as teal. Lime green could go though LOL

I wouldn't want anything close to pink or purple in the list out of respect - and that's saying a lot because I love purples.

Many people who lost their sight can still remember and visualize colors. Many of my students when I was working with guide dogs years ago would ask me to describe the color of something so they could picture it in their mind.

As I stated, color blindness is not considered a disability under ADA law. There have been several rulings about it.
