Do they expect Disney to make movies where the villians are all children? Wouldn't THAT really frighten kids? Heck, movies like The Bad Seed and The Omen really frighten me. Our society, as a whole, has a hard time accepting that children CAN be evil and capable of terrible acts.

A Villian must have power over you to be effective, whether it be money, physical strength, "powers" (such as magic), or family/political power. Children rarely have any of these, and evil people usually acquire them over years. Even though we may not agree with, or condone, the behavior, it's still understandable. (jealousy, greed, anger, egomania, etc) Ergo, a truly frightening, threatening, villian is older and has "cultivated" his/her villainy over many years. If a child displays these traits, we would consider him/her to be monstrous, and would prefer to believe that such a person can't exist. Wicked stepmothers, jealous siblings, and those obsessed with power and wealth, on the other hand, are a dime a dozen in fairy tales.

there are two ways to depict people. some belive people are born bad ( lord of the flys is a good example). others think that people turn bad by being influenced and that all childeren are pure and light harted( an example would be the disney movies and almost every stephen king book known to man)

someone should really give them this litterary lecture which i got in high school. disney was not the kind of person that thought from birth people have a bad nature so of course his villans would be adults.

sorry for the rant and the stephen king example (but anyone who has read his books knows what i mean)
