College questions..

Ok, I know it's probably really early to begin thinking about college, even though I am a soph in HS, but I want to get ahead in the game.

I am hoping to become an Imagineer and I am planning to apply to UC Berkeley, UCLA, Cal Poly..those kind of schools. Oh! And Academy of Art University in SF. Yeah, kind of a lot..But I'm narrowing my options as I think about where I want to major and such (currently considering engineering, digital art/animation, creative writing, physics or theme park design).

Anyway, I've been reading through these forums about how to become an imagineer and whatnot, and I'm beginning to wonder..

Do you really need connections to become an imagineer? Well, besides having the originality and skill. Or do you just need the experience?

Good question, one that I have no answer to.

It's never to early to plan your future but make sure you have a few back up plans.

Is there an actual college major in theme park design? Which school offers that?

As for making it as an Imagineer anymore it takes talent, a degree or 2, connections within the company especially HR and the dept in which you want to work in most, professional experience working in the entertainment industry, prior work experience with the Disney Company (such as the Disney College Program of the Disney Career Start Program), killer portfolio, being in the right place at the right time, and a lot of wishing to the good fairy.
