College Program Questions

I have a few questions about the International College Program. I'm considering applying for the 2013 program.

1. What is the average age of participants? This probably sounds like a stupid question but because I'll be finishing a four year degree at the end of this year and had a couple of gap years to travel I would be 24 when I start the program. I don't really want to be the 'pensioner' of the program.

2. How difficult is it to get into your preferred position? I want to work in the hotels but I've heard they're hard to get into. I'm finishing a Bachelor of Business in Hotel and Resort Management with Honours (ridiculously long degree title) and I have lots of experience in customer service and also working with children (which I guess is useful at Disney) but my actual hospitality experience is limited. If I was still midway through my degree it wouldn't be a problem but as a grad I couldn't really justify doing anything not related to the degree.

3. I know housing is separated into under 21 and over 21 but is there a risk of ending up in under 21 housing even at the age of 24. I've heard that in some cases they just don't have room in over 21. I live in campus housing now and don't have a problem but all my housemates are my age and I don't know if I could go back to living with 18 year olds.

4. Does anyone know how difficult transport would be for employees working in the hotels? I know there are buses available but are they very frequent? Or would I be better off buying a new car when I got there.

Thanks.

1. The age range varies. I would say the average age runs between 19-24

2. It depends on the role. Certain roles are easier to get into then others (for example- BBB, concierge, photopass tend to pick people in that area). Being in hotel management should help your chances for getting into hospitality at resorts

3. That would be up to you. You would have to trust your roomates, because if alcohol is found in the apartment, you run the risk of being termed

4. I used the buses for all 6 of my CPs. I got along fine
