Hey everyone new kid on the block here  I've been reading posts for a while and this is my first time I post LOL so take it easy on the new kid while I get adjusted. Anywayyy, I have a question about the cruises. For my college's spring break my friends are adamant about going on a cruise, and me being the Disney freak that I am I wanna go to WDW. However, I offered them a compromise by asking if they'd go on the cruise since I've never been. Their little dilemma though is whether there will be people our age on the cruises or if it will be pure families. I'm 18 and my friends are 19 and we're singles so finally my question is for anyone who's been on the cruise...from your perspective what does the demographic look like on the cruises. Do you think we will find plenty of people our age? If I confused you I'm so sorry and if you can answer my question I'd really appreciate it. Thanks alot!! :D

ive never been on disney but from being close to your age(21) i think you will enjoy carnival way more... the draw of the casino and stuff like that to me is far more entertaining then disney but then again ive never been.. ive been on 4 carnival cruises and loved every one.. definately tons of 18+ girls! theres a brief perspective from the non disney side..

Thanks! That's what I was thinking because my friend likes the thought of a casino on the cruise. Personally, that stuff doesn't float my boat I can go either way but whatever we'll see, I'm still pushing for WDW especially since they wanna go to Vegas when we're 21 so I'd like to pick the location of this trip. We'd also like to go somewhere where there's tons of 18+ guys besides girls LOL :D so thanks Chris!

Some Disney Cruises stop at Nassau where your friends can get their gambling fix at the on-shore casinos at the Atlantis Hotel!

If you are going at Spring Break, there are bnound to be LOTS of college students on board a Disney Cruise! Even more than normal, I'm sure!

People on cruises tend to gravitate to groups of similar people so I'm sure all teens will wind up at the same onboard events like the dance parties, pool activities, bars, the ESPN Club, and fun shore excursions.

I can't think of a better way to spend Spring Break on the open seas. Remember.....Disney is the only Cruise Line to stop at Castaway Cay, which is AWESOME! Plenty of beach area and water sports/boats, etc to use..

With some luck, you coul deventually talk them into a Land/Sea package and hit the Parks too!!

GOOD LUCK...and HAVE FUN!

I am 20 and went on a Disney Cruise with my friend last April (she's also 20). Disney Cruise Line has lots of families and very few college age students. Also, being between 18 and 21, you fall into a gap on Disney. You can't drink and the adult stuff is a little old for me - and you can't hang out with the teens on the ship (not that I'd really want to). Plus, unless you're a CM - disney is wayyyyy to expensive (especially for young adults).

Go for another mainstream cruise - but watch out. Many lines do not let people under 21 travel alone.

I agree with reblue. The 18-21 age group is minimal on the ship. If your friends are looking for a typical spring break experience this may not be the cruise ship for them. While there is plenty of room for sports, the ESPN Club and gambling and activities off the ship there may not be much else for you guys.

What is disneys age policy on their cruises? I know with carniva and those you have be at least 21 or be with someone 25 or older or be married.

Also you can gamble at 18 on most cruise ships in the casino and the atlantis in the bahamas is 18 as well..
