"I want to inject creativity back into the company" - Bob Iger

Movie slate:

Toy Story 5
Incredibles 3
Frozen 3
Frozen 4
Coco 2
Live-action Snow White
Live-action Stitch
Live-action Aladdin 2
Live-action Aladdin 2 isn't happening. Will Smith made sure of that. Disney will never be associated with a violent man.

Just because nothing’s been said doesn’t mean it it’s cancelled, right? If that logic is good enough for you to claim a BTM movie is still on, it can apply here, too.
Well back in 2023 before he delete his twitter account Aladdin himself suggested it had been permanently shelved -

So unless they are planning to do an Aladdin sequel without Aladdin I think it’s pretty much cancelled until otherwise stated.

That is the difference between it and a BTMRR movie, no one has come out to say it’s probably not happening.

Don't forget Freakier Friday!

If he had any stones he'd at least attempt live action remakes of the lesser known movies that didn't hit at the box office, movies that would probably have worked better as a live action anyway. Looking at you Black Cauldron. Do it Bob, I dare you!

And look what comes from his folly. A massive box office bomb because ego and hubris knows no end. RIP Snow White

You can understand why they are making a sequel to Coco. This company is creatively bankrupt. They've fired or let go of most of the creative people they had. So they are only able to do films based on their old stuff. Back when they had people with working brains.

If they try to do something new we end up with things like Strange World, Wish and Elio.

Anyone who follows people from the industry could tell you that there has been a purge from Hollywood in the last 10 years or so and they started hiring Tumblrers instead, which is why most movies have been terrible lately, and not just from Disney, but in general.

I don't know what they are getting by hiring the wrong people. Do they want pats on the back more than profits? Actors and Directors seem to be cast based on check boxes rather than qualifications. And Movies get nominated for awards even though they are not watchable like Emilia Perez and Anora.

I love the first movie, so I'm definitely intrigued by this one. Coco did look like she was on her last legs in the first one. So it makes sense that she would join the Land of the Dead for the sequel.

You already discounting Elio?

The irony of how much complaining there was about Pixar being bankrupt of good ideas and a sequel factory when Coco released is not lost on me.

We were eating good at that time and no one recognized it well. Inside Out, Moana and Coco are massive pillars.
