Not really that was Walt they haven't been like that in 30.

Yeah...in 2001, we were talking about maintenance issues. 20 years was a good time...1991 was a nice time to visit WDW. Conditions declined rapidly in the late 90s and obviously the 2000s. It wasn't just Walt that was good, though. WDW opened after Walt died and I think we can all agree that WDW had some (long gone) golden years when it was truly the flagship of the Disney properties. Policy changes were already appearing by the mid-90s but the gleaming parks so well taken care of were able to hide it for awhile. It's like car maintenance...a shiny new car/ride will look great for the first few years regardless of maintenance, but a lack of good maintenance during the first 60000 miles will create major issues later. Sometimes I feel Disney forgets that they want these rides to stay running indefinitely, not just for a few years.

That's nothing ever look at the floor while riding TT?
Its understandable that they might miss a couple of webs here and there but all over the bottom of SSE seemed kinda sloppy.

I don't understand the hostility towards pointing this out. Nowhere did I say this would ruin anything, just thought it looked bad. Had I thought about it, I would have tried to take a pic to show just how much of the base was covered but I was more interested in enjoying Epcot (which I did). I created the thread because I wasn't sure if others had noticed this on SSE, that's all.

Wasn't trying to be hostile and I agree with it. It's terrible show and that is what it should be about. Littl things like this distract from the overall show. I was just pointing out that TT is disgusting.

I can remember when Disney bragged on the Alucobond panels being self-cleaning on SSE, guess that didn't work out as planned...

Perhaps it's like abused Teflon, it's quits being non-stick after too much kitchen abuse. Too much harsh cleaning in the past may have diminished the self-cleaning aspect.

Hostile thing wasn't directed at you. Sorry if it came across that way.

Does seem odd as they bragged quite a bit about the materiality in early marketing. Perhaps that spout of intense hurricanes at the start of the 00's caused the damage?

No kidding. Raven, (or someone else in the know) do you know how often the Soarin' queue fixtures are dusted? Because they are often covered with lots dust and it's very noticeable.

What part of the queue are you talking about when you say "fixtures?" They are supposed to be done on a daily basis.

I urge anyone that has complaints about any part of the parks being dirty to go to Guest Relations and make an official complaint. Be over the top with it. They listen to guest issues and take them very seriously and will see to it that something is done about it. Making complaints on a fan website isn't going to solve anything. Just a tip.
