It's salt in the wound really. People are already irritated about the parking fee....and then you pull up to that. I'm sure there were plenty of spots but that's beside the point. I'd be irritated, but probably wouldn't complain .

Anyone in their right mind would complain about having to park that far away from their room especially since they paid to park in the first place. I would demand a refund on the parking fee as well. If you don't mind parking that far away and paying for it then so be it, but I sure as hell wouldn't.

Here is the problem with charging for parking, People's expectations are immediately higher since they are paying they EXPECT convenience, when Parking is free well expectations are lower.

Ah, I see. I just have to reset my expectations so in case I'm actually expecting value for money I'm being charged, I should dispel that notion right up front.

If I am understanding the thread? The back half of the lot near celebration hall was closed off for a special event. Anybody who ever has stayed at the value resorts know this is where Disney Put up the high school sports teams that have games at ESPN. They put them up in the Sports. If they have bands, they are put up in Music, and the cheer Champs are put up in both. The coverage and all that goes with that they tend to close off Celebration Hall close parking. Now, if you were in Tennis courts, Coke, or Juke Box wings, then all your convenient parking is taken up. What was free is now pay parking, I would say complain, make your opinion heard. Let the Disney Corp understand, that they are making you pay for the convenience of being on the property and parking on the property, that you expect the convenience that is being paid for. For all the other Boo Hoo types, saying here is a tissue stop sniveling, are you forgetting, that it is common sense to expect what you paid for? If it was maintenance, then the maintenance signs would be used, but since it was parking around celebration it was an event. Please don't forget, the people who do stay at the value resort, are just that getting the value from the Disney Vacation. I would love to do an experiment and rope off big convenient portions of parking in the mod and deluxe resorts and see who jumps on to complain.

As I said earlier in the thread, a similar thing happens at deluxe resorts too. My friend (overnight guest and only car on the reservation) could not find parking at GF when she came to stay with us. There was a wedding reception going on, she had to park extremely far from our room.

There was no discount on that date as it was Thanksgiving weekend. I was annoyed, but not enough to waste my time with guest services or the front desk. Sometimes it’s ok just to shrug something off.
