I thought I read somewhere about fiber optics, so like the pixie dust actually appears to glimmer...I could have sworn I have read something like that.

are you thinking of the oversized 4 park themed 100YoM pins with the little lights(pixiedust) that go off at certain times and places?

I like the whole favorite disney memory, but not many people knew what they meant w/o asking the cast member what it meant. The hometown, though, is a great conversation starter.

Thats not a great conversation starter? If someone asks you why you have something on your nametag...that seems to me like they are starting a convo...

I guess they could be!... It's interesting, though, to meet cast members from where you live or close to it.

A couple people from my area found me a few weeks ago while I was at the Magic Kingdom, and it was a great conversation starter. the funny thing was, they also either saw me in a different park a couple days later, or they saw me later in the same day at a different location. And they remembered me of course, so we went further into the conversation we had earlier.

However, I do like the 100 Years nametags better. I had the Haunted Mansion as my favorite memory and many people would inquire about it. The hometown is general, but if you had the Haunted Mansion and you were a Character Greeter, people would ask about it.

Yeah thats true...It's always nice to start a convo with someone who knows where you're from.

I just recently returned to WDW to work for a small amount of time, and was excited when my management gave me my new nametag. I was jumping up and down when I got it. But, as with my 100 yom one, I took the pin off and replaced it with a magnet. (Caution : Magnetic) haha:lol:

I have to be careful with mine... I have two pockets on my costume... the left one is for my pocket calendar with sticky schedules, and the right one is for my sunglasses, pen, a contraband item, and my ID card. I keep my ID card in my top pocket because I always have to show it at inoportune moments. When I clock out, I remove my name tag, and put it in one of these top pockets till I get to my car, and then it gets stored there. I have to remember to keep the ID card and the Nametag in different pockets. I forgot one day, and demagnetized my ID card... got barked at by security because they had to press a button to open the cast parking lot gate... oh no... lol
