CM Freebie One-Day Hoppers

I know there are a bunch of CMs on here and I'm hoping one of them can help me out with an answer. I was cleaning out a drawer over the weekend and found four CM one-day park hoppers -- the freebie ones they give out twice a year. Sadly, they're expired. Does anyone know if they'll still accept them? Or a number I can call to find out?

No problem there -- the name on the back doesn't matter. You'll have to stand in line at guest services at whichever park you want to use them though -- they won't just take them at the gate anymore (unless they're really old ones with the space for a stamp and no expiration date). It can be a real pain on busy days!

It depends on where you go and who is working at the time. If the greets wants to be a real stickler for the rules, they could make you show ID and not let you in. I doubt this will happen, but you never know.

Smitty -- I don't believe that's correct. We've always been told that they are to be given to family and friends -- why would they give them to CMs if not for others to use, since CMs get in with their IDs?

And we use them all the time. I quit as a CM two years ago and always use them to get in. No one has ever questioned me and they say nothing about needing an ID on the back of the passes, either.

I know from my time working at MK on Main St. and knowing the managers and park greeters that if there was a name on the back of the pass that the person using the pass would sometimes have to show ID. There was also a rash of stolen passes during the time I was there so that could be the reason why.

Also, at Christmas time whoever had their name on the pass had to be present in order to get the other people with the passes in as well. Just my memories.

I think I've had this discussion with others on this site before. No place does it say you must accompany a guest using those passes. The back of the pass would say that if it was required (as it says on a Silver Pass). And I don't know how long ago you worked there, but I used one on December 28th, 29th and New Year's Eve on 2001 and no one ever asked for any kind of ID. I just don't want Jwinch to be concerned.

Now, if they were purchased park hoppers, that's a different story. If you have an old one of those with a name on the back, they may ask for ID.

smitty,

If the CM reports the passes as stolen, they are taken out of the system, and when they are put through the turnstiles they will show up as no good. And, I personally don't recall ever a policy of asking for ID, but I do remember being allowed to ask if they (the person using the comps) paid anything for them, or exchanged them for any services.

Lizzie,

CP's are usually given passes, but this is no guarantee. Almost always, you will be given some sort of passes. If you are there for Christmas you are given passes for the holiday celebration.

As a Campus Rep for the WDWCP, I hope you know that the Summer College Program is for Alumni's only. Sorry if that shoots a hole in your plans, but I thought you should know.
