CM for dinner?

We've been to CM for breakfast and my daughter would like to go back on our next trip. We were thinking of going for dinner, but my sister said CM for dinner was her least favorite meal during her 6 day stay at WDW. Is CM normally a decent dinner and my sis just went on a bad night, or should we stick to breakfast?

Thanks!

And my opinion. Your sister was right. Chef Mickey's is a horrendous dinner- the food was very blah. The meat looked like it had been out too long, the vegetables were soggy, and the serving area was very messy.

If you're looking for a really great dinner buffet, I'd recommend Boma.

Chef Mickey's (imho) is a horrible buffet for dinner. The food was below average, bland, not hot, etc, etc. :hurl: And we did give the place another shot and got the same results.

My family prefers Crystal Palace and Bomas if we are in the mood for a buffet. Again imho.

I actually really liked Chef Mickey's for dinner. I thought the food was standard buffet quality, but I loved the extra Disney touches like the Mickey shaped ravioli and macaroni and cheese. It was loud and crowded like some other character meals, but overall I thought it was a lot of fun! (It should also be noted that I am not a picky eater and do not have refined palate...and generally have yet to meet a restaurant whose food I didn't like.)

I did think Chef Mickeys was a fun place, we had a really good evening there but that was due to the atmosphere, staff and characters. The food was just ok but probably the worst table service we had in our 12 days.

It depends whether the food or the overall experience is more important. Also are you on the dining plan? If you're not paying out of pocket it doesn't seem so bad!

Thanks, everyone. I think we've decided against it. I've got ADR for breakfast at Tusker House and I think we should see most of the same characters.

Definitely pass on CM - when I recall my dinner, I think Chef Boyardee and even worse. Without a doubt, worst meal I ever had at Disney. Breakfast was a different story, but dinner - never again. Even the characters were off....Go for Boma like someone else suggested, and if you want a character buffet, Crystal Palace.....

not our favorite, BUT its our kid's favorite. (and thats all that matters to me!) If your daughter enjoys it, then go and let her enjoy herself. if i were picking, i'd go for breakfast over dinner. i prefer the early seatings as well. (did the 7 am after heading back from the last shuttle landing this past july) headed right to MK for extra magic hours after and it was a great last day at WDW!!!

Great? No. Horrible? No. Fun for parents with kids? Yes. Food = okay. Atmosphere = superb! Agree that Breakfast>Supper. When we stay at Contemporary, we have done it many times. When we stay eleswhere, we are usually too busy to travel there amongst our other destinations.

We didn't care for Chef Mickey either. On the other hand we've never tried a dinner buffet at Disney we did like. Like others have said, with the Character meals the draw is the characters. We usually try to stick to the buffets for breakfast. They just seem to be better. We've had friends that ate at Tusker House and LOVED the experience! Good Luck!

I like Chef Mickey's! I've been a few times and enjoyed it. Though I go more for the character dining experience than I do for the food. But I've never had a problem with the food. I love the parmasean mashed potatoes!

When you go to a buffet that is character dining - you are paying more for that than the food. If you want a to die for buffet dinner - go to Boma or the Biergarten.

Contrary to popular belief, Cast Members don't taste any better than regular people... No need to try to eat one for dinner...

Yes, this is a joke...

Chef Mickey's is fun... but way too over priced... WAY OVERPRICED... The dinner food was average at best, nothing to write home about... People with kids I guess tend to like it more because their children are excited about the characters... other than that, I find Check Mickey's to be extremely noisy and, like I said, the food just average at best....

My friend had breakfast there recently and enjoyed the breakfast more than the dinner...
